Hi me.......................
I woke up excited, but also very nervous, the black dog, was trying it's best to drag me down and to an extent he succeeded.
I sat here, trying to get my mind into wanting to leave the house and go for a drive! and it takes me over 3 hours to change myself and I know if I do not go now, I will not do so and just go back to bed and sleep the rest of the day away.
I am also not happy leaving the cat alone for the day, as altho i may shout at him at times, he is my comforter when I am alone, but I cannot take home with me as it would be unfair to keep in his travel case all day!.
So I get up and get out the door whilst I can, and start the drive to Sainsbury's were one of the assistance came out and put some diesel in the transit and took me payment for me.
And finally I am off to Wrangle to get some major work done on the transit.
By the time I got there I was very tired and not in a good place.
So I wait in the transit for a while, before heading into the workshop.
Where with Kieth we discuss what is gonna be happening over the next few days.
1. put air smoke machine in back of transit and find all the leaks in the roof.
Once this has been done I will get a phone call with the options and price for the work!.
If the leaks are not bad and confined to certain areas just cleaning out and replacing the
sealant with new ford sealant.
Or
Having to replace all the panels sealant, which will cost a lot more, but is my preferred
choice, but Money dictates my options here.
2. Cut n install siding door window.
I have brought a new complete window kit that comes with everything needed.
and there should be no surprises and we are expecting a smooth completion of this job.
3. The drivers side window (by the kitchen area.)
Is a bit different, as I could only find a drivers side sliding door window kit!.
So we have discussed this and I have left the final positioning to him.
I do know that the window will be partially obscured by the transit body frames as they cannot be removed, But I am ok with this.
4. The Roof vent unit.
We have found the ideal location, that should make the installation and sealing a breeze.
5. Other Things.
A. They may have a suitable roof rack for me, as we cannot mount the solar panels direct to the roof, so fingers crossed on that one..
B. They also think they may have suitable areal for my broken one (be great to listen to radio when driving again).
subject to everything going well, I should get a phone call on Saturday Morning to go and collect the transit and am looking forward to that,
But not looking forward to the bill.
We have also discussed wiring up the front 3 batteries (maybe 4 yet) to a split charger, so they can be charged as I am driving, and solar charged when parked up. They can do that for me at another time, as the batteries did not arrived when promised!. We have yet to discuss the bill on this one, as he wants to see what items I have already brought for that purpose.
Also some body work, there are a couple of areas, that If I can get sorted before I go to Scotland, it would save a larger bill in a year or twos time, But again this comes down to what money I have left.
I have been sat asleep in the cab for a large part of the Afternoon, as Micheal & Lynne won't get to me till after there work.
But not only did Michael work some overtime, so he could get out that bit earlier today, they had a quick drive over to pick me up around 5.30pm. a good hour earlier than expected.
So I left the keys, said goodbye to the transit and we headed home....
All in all a wasted day for getting anything done, but in just a few days a lot hopefully will be done, and we can then carry on with the conversion at a faster rate hopefully.
