Good Morning Folks.
Ubuntu installed itself over night and as I had tick the do the updates whilst installing, they are all out of the way.
First job, was to turn my computer off. :( :(
And install the DVD DVD writer with one screw for now.
As I was doing up the screw I kicked myself as ordered a new DVD DVDR player !!
Nothing is wrong with this one, but as I am not planning on opening the case up for another 3 years, thought it best to replace it now.
The top unit (holds 2 x 3.5" SSD's plus the on/off and reboot switches.
I am not ready to screw in to the case yet as its a real pain to get the SATA leads in.
Plus I need to find and refit the front bezel
and there is another box, that sits directly underneath it and they cable together.
I had to shut down, to add a SSD drive, so I could back it up, give it a thorough test and see if any deleted files could be found ( I am still missing loads of pics, so any I do manage to recover will be a blessing)
Also removed the DVD DVDR player again, ready for when the new one arrives (ETA Saturday)
Altho intel said my I5 CPU cannot be clocked, I know different :) :)
This pic is to remind me of the main changes I will make, at some stage.
Back in goes the new 4TB harddrive in the bottom front cage.
Altho thinking on it, I brought this drive to go into my external SATA box, for backups, So I will remove it later, It's safe here for now.
(that I have been backing up recovered files and folders on other harddrives)
Whilst os copying and recovering lost data is going on, I push the DVD DVDR drive back in the case and line up the screw holes.
But DO NOT Screw it in place.
As I was just using it to line up this top unit so I could screw in into place,
on this side only for now.
Since I have re-installed the SATA expansion card, I noticed this error keep popping up on boot up.
Took pic, so I could research it sometime.
But as the card is working 100% It is not that urgent, more just an irritation as I do not like errors !!
That's it for today as went for a drive this afternoon and popped in to see Val & Donald.
