One minute I was still in my peaceful zone,
I have been in for last few days,
then all of a sudden everything hit me and dragged me deep in the shit...........
Luckily I re-found message from Ruff Daddy to me (will be added on this website soon!) and it made me chuckle out loud.
Altho It didn't make things better, It gave me a glimmer of hope.
So today down the workshop, gonna be painting the shelve Strawbs n me built yesterday.
Shelf underside gets a coat of paint
So today down the workshop, gonna be painting the shelve Strawbs n me built yesterday.
Shelf underside gets a coat of paint
and this shelf, is soon given a coat of paint.
with the 3 bars on its like a sauna in here,
But its drying the paint in about 10 mins, so all the shelves get another coat
The framework gets 1st coat of paint
Whilst the paint is drying, i mark up were the cross batons will be fitted
and fed up with looking at this!
around 30 mins later
Up goes a large off cut of lining
Its cut n slid behind the beams
The frame gets a 2nd coat of paint
In goes the bottom shelf screwed in and the top is painted
the dividers are painted
In goes the next shelf and divider and screwed in and painted
on goes the top shelf and after being screwed is painted
and finally its all done.
Now just gotta wait for it to dry!
So I have a hunt round the workshop and come across this old bit of 2x2 - its soon cut to size and fitted
I had to hunt around for these brackets, as i thought we had used them all yesterday!
Must buy some more, but like the wood i need, i just don't have the funds at the moment
Using the two sheets of 25mm thick Fire Proof polystyrene.
I start to cut and persuade it wants to be fitted between the roof beams
and the next section, is soon cut n slotted in place.
and some short off cuts complete this small section in
nearly done this side
am having to mix n match as trying to use up all the off cuts
before I use the last 3 sheets in the other shed
The |Insulation is all done now, well for this area.
I try to put it up myself,
but give up n phone Michael Osborn, and ask him for a hand, its much easier when there's two of ya
and it gets its first coat of paint, which helps to really brighten up this area of the workshop.
I turned the light off, as its too bright for camera - looks loads brighter and cheerful now
Yet another clean up and some abuse with Gay Gordon
mmmmm - time to do something with the floor
i have sort of let the floor to get cluttered and untidy once again, over the last week or so
That's better - the wood n bits that were beside the gas fire, now in another temp home, but just enough space to slide the wood off cuts bin in there
which means a little bit more space that needs cleaning
Burnable Rubbish and kindle bag for
Jan Horton to help her keep costs down for starting her fire.
Waste nowt, if I can help it.
Starting to look a lot better
Space!
The final Workshop Frontier
To go boldly were Capt. Kirk has never been before :) :)
rubbish bag sits nicely on top of the off cuts bin for now
bits that were here, now on shelves or in the bin
off cuts of Fireproof insulation off cuts.
even getting more space at this end of the workshop.
I remember when i started this refurb, there was about 9" strip from back to workbench to walk thru and work with.
Seems a lot more spacious now and still not finished
As i cant afford the wood, to finish this bench,
the hole is just the right size for 4 bags of kindling for Jan Horton to collect.
Gay Gordon after some more abuse!
His bloody hole kept getting bunged up! not fun shoving your fingers up him 🙂
Gary Strawbridge - So you say!
Stephen Osborn - Yep :) :)
Gary Strawbridge - Never had to shove your fingers up a dustpan and brush, have you? I rest my case......
Stephen Osborn - Very true :) :)
This roof lining gets its 2nd coat of paint.
The whole workshop is getting a lot brighter as the areas insulated, boarded and painted.
I hope the cheerful work shop, will encourage me to spend loads of time in here and hopefully gets loads of jobs done....
time to look at fixing the two mains sockets the the bench shelving
5 screws later and the backs not going anywhere
and the other side soon follows with cable
All wires connected, the thin wire is from an off cut of mains lead from disco -
makes great earth lead to the metal back
and its all screwed up - I cant test it yet as its not connected to the mains.
The two boxes will be emptied out, and will have bits for the pillar drill in them
next earth lead with earth covering slid over it
the left cable, is from the other socket, the other one is power in
all connected, no bare wires showing
and its screwed up
Found another 3 boxes - again they have stuff in that's to be sorted at some stage 🙂
And i position the pillar drill were it will live, for now plugged into the new socket, but i think i prefer the cable going thru the bench to a socket underneath
I find some electric cable trunking and cut to fit
This tool box will be top tray for Pillar drill tools.
the bottom tray for Lathe tools.
Will be removing the lid and lubricants etc for both can sit in there
Pic of it all starting to come together, on the workbench.
Not happy with the tool box as cabling from sockets stops it sitting just were i want it.
Have had enough for today, back down tomorrow
