Hi Folks..... - The workshop rebuild is ongoing
at a steady pace, that's about normal for me these days..
First thing is to find some bits that have bids on on Ebay, So as I cannot remember were anything is at the moment, Its time for a bit of a tidy up at the same time.
Starting with this pile, that sits in the middle of the floor.
My Polystyrene small off cuts bin
the Suzy GS 750,850,1000 will be on Ebay later SOLD
Suzy GS 750,850,1000 battery box, will be on Ebay later SOLD
Suzy GS 750,850,1000 caliper, will be on Ebay later on at 99p start
This Suzzy GS 550,650,750,850,1000 Rev Counter cable, will be on Ebay later on at 99p start
This Suzzy GS 750,1000 rear sprocket and carrier (missing nuts) will be on Ebay later on at 99p start
Suzzy GS750,1000 rear wheel spindle, spacers, chain adjusters & caliper plate (no nut), will be on Ebay later on at 99p start
So much for buying nice strong plastic boxes to store stuff in!
Slowely the pile is getting lower
its just a right mix of stuff, that really needs sorting out, but I will wait till I got some free boxes and some where to put them, so I will do it only once
These cardboard boxes, whilst not the best thing are taking up a lot of stuff
and this ones filling up nicelly
The off cut bins - just swapping large bits for small at the moment.
Wonder how hard it would be to install a wood burner or something similar safely
I pull this lot out to see if i can find the bits I am looking for
Found them.....
Which as always is in the last box you come to
and I add another box to the stack
Part of the tidying up has revealed the toolbox, that will be bolted to the workbench.
Only at the moment theres no clear space on it as I have filled it up once again
This bit of battoning needs to be sawn off level with the beams, then fixed firmly in place, a job I will tackle when the floor is clearer of stuff.
i decide to fit the top front door bolt and in normal fashion it dont bloody fit
But from an offcut of hardboard comes a packing piece
and ive marked out one for the bottom of the door as well
Internal draw bolt, and yes the catch is supposed to be at an angle.!
It just makes closing/opening the bolt, just a tad harder.
This is were the compressor will fit, ive found a real heavy duty motorcycle lock n chain, so will drill thru the floor to the 6x2" beam underneath and screw in a hardend bolt and round the top off.
I start to mark the cabinet parimeters out.
and the side storage/bench
the bloody heater keeps cutting out, and on touching the plug, its bloody hot !
So time for a break whilst I cut off a few inches and re wire the plug.
Problem sorted nicelly plug still cold to touch 54 hours later on
Typical these 3x2 batons are too bloody short, So I nip out to get some wood from sale of stuff from the workshop over the weekend
I decide to open up and instal lthe mortiser I brought in November for my pillar drill.
Only to find it dont bloody fit - so as ive had it too long to get a refund apparently it will end up on ebay - that was a waiste of £60.00
The door catches slightly on opening and closing
So with a hasp I trim the affecting areas back, it fits a dream now
Brought a router and theres no bloody bits in thee
So I give up and start building the framework for the first cabinet
for once i am measuring carefully and repeatedly as I want the fron straight
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
and slowly the frame starts to get assembled
not only screwed together with brackets
but long screws thru the front n backs as well
first frame screwed together
some off cuts for cross members
careful checking to make sure theres plenty of room
In goes the next pair of uprights
Also screwed thru the floor into the joists underneath
nice n square
screwed the front into the new workshop front joists
The base 2x2 that boxes in the compressor gets more added and screwed into place
Screwing the top of the compressor unit framework to teh side and roof beams
Like all the units frameworks in the workshop, I use 6" screws to secure it to the workshop framework.
The workshop framework is NOT square, so I am building the framework so it is level with teh workshop framework.
he wall is badly out of shape, When I strength end it, I straightened it as much as I could. but the front will be straight.
So when I add the shelves hopefully it will look square
in goes the first shelf framework, from an off cut, but not screwed in place just yet
Front n back 1st shelf frame work gets screwed in place.
Nice n level.
The Compressor shelving unit is now rock solid now and don't move at all
Another offcut provides the end frame work.
and all sits nice n level.
thats it for the day i gotta nip in other shed to find a bit of chipboard for the shelf
A mixed day but deffo progress
