Hi Folks.
Yesterday Strawb's sent me over a link yesterday, but as I was busy sorting & listing items, I just book marked it.
So this morning during a break in the sorting and listing I had a good look at the website.
And I can see it is gonna be a very handy website which will help me out with the wiring of the transit.
Altho I have gone for Split Charging on 3 batteries (Engine & Solar Charging).
the 2nd Solar circuit, was giving me some head ache, as how to make sure I always had enough power!.
As my Sleep machine will be running thru one of my inverters at 220 volts, I need to be confident that there is enough power for 8 hours sleep at least.
RocwooD Electric Start Petrol Generator 2800W
This will be more than powerful to keep the batteries topped up if the sun refuses to shine!!
- Max Output: 2800w
- Rated Output: 2600w
- Fuel Tank Capacity: 11L
- Fuel Type: Regular Unleaded
- Outputs: 240 / 110 Volt AC and 12 Volt DC
- Automatic Voltage Regulator: Yes
- Auto Breaker Overload Protection: Yes
- Low Oil Level Auto Shutdown: Yes
I would have preferred diesel, but they cost an arm & a leg!
And this unit came in at £311.00 all in.
So I will just have to live with it. I will need to by a jerry can or a couple of petrol cans, depending on what storage space I have available.
The other job I will have is securing the genny whilst I am parked up!.
But I have a few heavy duty chains n padlocks in the workshop that I have acquired over the years to secure the bikes when parked up.
So I am hoping 2 of them should do the trick
Sorry got side tracked there !!
Also on the website, was a large diagram spread over 4 pages to make things even easier for me.
Or it will when I get some ink in the printer so I can tape the pages together :) :)
Altho I will need to make some minor changes to the diagram, so it suits my needs.
I do not need a battery charger in line as the genny has one inbuilt and comes with the leads as well.
Once we get the transit back
and have secured the kitchen and got some insulating done and wall panels cut.
I will then get the bed frame made, so I can lay out what I have brought, to see what I still need to get.
After all I do not want 2 of certain items (altho in some cases I do).
Just had some bad news & Update with the Transit !
Just had a phone call from Keith (who is doing the leaks and some conversion work for me).
With an update, some of it not good ! so we will start with that.
The drivers side window I brought, was meant for the panel, where we now have the bathroom!.
But no problem he say's, But it means I will have to move some of the internal framework and need to keep the structure sound.
So it is not a hard choice for me, either we get the mods done and this window in and back home, or we have a hole in the back of the van and hope I can find a window to fit!.
As I had already paid out over £200.00 for the window kit - Make the changes.
Ok he say's thought that's is what you will do. But the van will not be ready till Tues or wed!
Ok I say quietly.............
Now the good news.......................
1. the roof is now waterproof had 3 major leaks and 14 small ones!
But no smoke is escaping from there at least (meaning the door seals (which ate in the back))
2. Passenger side rear window went straight in as it should, they have used the sealant provided in the kit, in case something goes wrong, and they do not want to upset the warranty, buy using there own (better quality sealant they use)
3. The air vent is in and just waiting on the sealant to go off, again using the sealant provided, so warranty is not affected.
4. The roof rack they had is for my model transit and I can have it for £100.00 fitted :) :)
So stroll on Tuesday or Wednesday altho I cannot wait to see and drive my transit back home, The bank account will be empty!
Unfortuantly the extra work involved has more than doubled what I thought it was gonna cost, so now thi sweekend jobs have just changed yet again to finding and listing more items, as I need to order batteries/solar pannels 1st week in feb, and also will be needing some more timber by then as well.
