Hi Folks.... - After righting off yesterday - Today we get back to the build..
ok not feeling well today (read today's "Life n Grimes" )
but I am hoping working on the transit, will help me forget the pain and discomfort.
I would like to concentrate on getting the bathroom/side door entrance roof panel finished if possible.
But it will be a lot of work as the stencil we made for the roof holes that we are gonna use to hold up the 3 ply did not exactly work as planned, so we gotta re think that out.
Also adding the wires for the 2 lights that will be in the entrance way, one 12 volt the other 220 volt.
And need to make some framework up for were the panels will join.
so will I am sure keep us busy, if we decide to do that.
we will see when we get out there later on as its only 5.30am at the moment!.

Double Bonus job, to have worked out and cut the bed frame & have it mounted!
First thing, is to have a tidy up in the bathroom and entrance area, as this is were we will be working for most of the day.
The plan is to finally get this ceiling board fixed into place.
But we have a few jobs to do first..
Altho we made a template up, with the existing holes in the roof frames. When we transposed them to the ply ceiling nothing lined up!!
So we are gonna try a different method, and the green tape is were the board sits and will be my start measuring point..
So down comes the 3mm board (for the last time we hope)
And as the kitchen top is clear it gives us a nice flat space to work with..
We have pulled the 2 wires thru, 1 rated for 12/14 volt the other thicker cable is for 220/240 volts
And have drilled a hole on either side of the frame to feed the wires out of the frame and to go to the lights.
This end is left hanging for now, till we are ready to connect them up..
We have drilled out the 2 light holes in the ceiling at 55mm.
1 Light will work via 12 volt and the other will work via the mains.
This give me both options, depending on were I am parked up and if electricity is available (and I can afford it)
We will have the generator as a last resort if the weathers not good enough to charge the solar batteries, we can just turn that on and charge the batteries, or use it to power the mains circuit.
so fingers crossed with the split charger as well, we should be ok for electricity..
now it is time to add the 2nd layer of insulation and sound deadener.
We could have spray clued it in place, But I did not want that, as if we have to remove it at any stage I would like to be able to reuse it.
So masking tape holds it in place, for us, till we are ready to fit the 3ply ceiling board..
Lynne is having fun, trimming the insulation, as it was to thick to push between the roof and wall frame..
And the ceiling is up, well almost.
Some of the holes are a fraction too big for the panel clips, or the panel clips are just too short!!
Unfortunately the grey ones we have are all used up, as I threw away all the bad ones, so now gotta go n hunt in workshop to see if I can find anymore...
My med's alarm is going off, so time for a 30 min break.
We are back and we just opened the ceiling lights to discover, that they already have long wires !!
My dammed fault for not looking and having a memory like a giant black hole!!
So we look at how we are gonna keep the 3 ply boards together and the joints level with each other
Lynne brought up some old 2x1 10 foot length, which we had to cut in 2, just to get it in the transit. It's not pretty, but as it will all be hidden that does not matter.
When we screwed it together, the ceiling would not sit high enough, so we got out the finger sander and made a groove, That solved that issue...
And in it goes, and we have screwed the ceiling to the 2x1 baton.
Which has tidied things up nicely.
Now we can start to look at the trouble spots.
This corner was sagging down, so with some 2x1 off-cuts we screwed them together until they reached the roof frame and drilled n screwed them together.
Again it is not pretty, it is there just so we can screw the side panel to it!.
As I could not pull the wire thru as I hoped, I cut the wire on the light and joined it to the wire I had threaded thru the frame earlier
Altho solid and no loose wires, I will wrap it in insulating tape, just to be safe...
As we were both so weary we decided to call it a night at this point, and hopefully we will be refreshed ready for tomorrow morning.
A good steady day, we achieved everything we set out to get done today, and even went a bit further.
Ok it still is not finished, but I have finally located some long 8mm panel clips, so we will not be able to finish that until they arrive hopefully by Saturday.
We still have some more areas to sort and add wood to to support the ply board and to allow us to screw the side wall panels in place.
Tomorrow hopefully, we are gonna try and mover CBRTIM and get the 2 x 8x4 sheets of 3 ply that are against the all behind Tim.
If we manage that then we will be able to start on the bathroom side wall and get that finally panelled and that will allow us to finish mounting the sink, then we can put the door framework back in place and make a start on finishing that and the door., which will just leave the battery cover to be cut and attached to the framework, A fair bit of painting and final finishing to complete the bathroom. (Lynne knows a plumber, so once we have all the right parts in place, we will ask him to come and plum it all in for us.)
But we do want to get the bed frame cut and in place, before Lynne goes back to work, so we will be stopping in the next day or so to concentrate on that.
