Hi Folks !..... Finally have a positive update..............
Today we have the transit back home :) :)
After a slight issue with injector 1 and clearing fault in ECU, it drove flawlessly.
In fact the annoying rattle, I used to get when I put the accelerator pedal to the floor, has also disappeared, which is a bonus.
Matt has changed an awful lot of items related to the fuelling system, Which luckily for me, I already had (I put them in boxes for Matt to use, if needed) and has saved me a fortune.
I will need to buy in some more sensors as Matt had to use them all.
But that will have to wait as no funds available.
The Injectors I brought for £350.00 from FB Market Place, that had only been installed and ran for approx 1 hour, then badly failed it's MOT and they scrapped it.
Altho one of them did cause an issue on Saturday, but clearing the ECU solved this.
Are now in my Engine and working 100%.
Full set of Injector seals installed.
I always have a spare set in my box of spares and as less than £10.00.
I will get replaced as soon as funds allow.
Timing chain cover complete kit!.
Only around £30.00, but will not need this set as unlikely to need again before we sell the transit on.
New Camshaft sensor.
Probably noting wrong with my old one, But as not expensive, I asked Matt to install as he already had easy access.
New Air intake pressure Map sensor.
Probably noting wrong with my old one, But as not expensive, I asked Matt to install as he already had easy access.
New Crankshaft Sensor
Probably noting wrong with my old one, But as not expensive, I asked Matt to install as he already had easy access.
New Alternator/drive fan belt
Probably noting wrong with my old one, But as not expensive, I asked Matt to install as he already had easy access.
The cost of sorting the mess out from the other garage ! Lets just say it was a lot more than it needed to be and has cleared my bank account out!
But fingers crossed it will be worth it.
Later this week or next week, I will start to put together the case for Small Claims Court for the previous person who charged me £900 for new injectors, when he did not fit them ???
I have the injectors if needed for the case.
The rest of the damage he did, I do not think I can prove 100% beyond doubt that he caused the rest of the damage to known good items!. So will just have to bite the bullet on that.
Sometime this week, I am hoping to get into the transit and start to have a good tidy up and sit down with Lynne looking at Albums posted before Matt took it away, to remind ourselves were we got too.
We will be making some changes to some of the charging system, as newer products are now available and the prices have come down.
So we will need to go thru out transit boxes to find the parts I have already brought and get them ready to sell on, to help get some funds back into the bank account.
Luckily we have a fair amount of items/timber so we can carry on for a few weeks or so, and hopefully I will get more items listed and SOLD to replenish the bank account.
Altho with the lack of funds, we may have to do some jobs out of order, to keep progress ongoing.
So looks Like I have found a good person/garage for most of the work on our transit.
They just do not do welding.
But they can also MOT my transit, so I will give them a tryout end of November.
Not the cheapest around, but so far well happy with there work, there progress updates and there friendly manor.
For once I did not fell like they just want my money but a valued customer, something sadly I have found to be lacking at a lot of places these days.
