Kinda hoping to get a lot done today, Mrs C is unfortuantly at work till sometime after 7pm, dinners in the slow cooker, feeling ok just a bit tired.
Right I have sold a fair bit of stuff yesterday, and most of it is buried in here
and its gonna take some finding, so instead of just keep moving stuff around, I hope to get the bench/storage area done today.
Which should hopefully lead to more free room by Saturday, as I process Items sold Thurs - Sat nite on Sunday. ( I have found weekend shipping/posting is were items get lost or damaged, so dont ship anything after Wednesdays).
Ready to post on Monday
Right lets crack on
couple of sample ex Sainsburys fruit boxes, I deal for what i want and they are free, come in different sizes and when they get worn out easy to replace
So I screw up the back storage area frame
and screw it into place
Using the boxes means the units gonna be as couple of inches wider than I really wanted, but small price to pay
Playing around with different size boxes - to see what fits the best
cut n screw in center frame floor baton
and the end as well
Its soon all screwed to the floor
Looking good so far
Its all screwed to the floor now, so I just have to hope Ive got it all right!
Have had to add extra baton in here
the rear isnt straight but so far the sides and front are and thats what matters
and this shows up a Problem!
I forgot to take into account the slight sloping floor
Will think on this..............
the center front upright is bracketed at bottom
Dunno why I check as not measureing anything just working from my eyes
But amazingly its surprisingly level
I find a bit of 2x1 which is made to fit and its soon screwed on the top of the front edge, and I have raised the cross batons as well
Not sure if I will put a front on it
But fed up with moving this peace around so line it up n mark it out
and after some serious hand sawing ( my bloody right hand still playing up and slowing me down) its soon screwed into place, ready for painting.
Right time, to start on the toolbox area, I think its too low so gonna raise it which will also make securing it a lot easier
So back to the off cut bins and find all the longets 2x2 I could find
I move the grey tool box out of the way.
Its coming together slowely
the floors at this point are not very level
so mark up
and with chop saw carefully do what its not intened to do
and under it goes
Took ages to get the front upright level
the frame is finally done
I screw in some 2c1 batons on each edge
and slot in the bottom tool box
Not sure what I am gonna do about this hole, but i am sure a plan will spring to mind
I need an off cut for this edge
I cut a bit of 2x1 off cut down,
just needs sanding at some stage.
Ive sunk the toolbox into the frame work, to make securing it easier. I have some 3mm plate laying around, That I will cut to fit.
I have found the rivets, just cant find the rivitor at the moment
Whilst looking around, I see an off cut of 1" chipboard, that cuts down nicelly and is soon screwed into place.
I will have a sweep up tomorrow and see if the stands and trolly jack will fit in here. If they do will level the floor a bit and prep it ready for painting.
I just cant be arsed to sweep up and paint tonight I am very tired, so gonna call it a night and comer back to it tomorrow hopefully refreshed
