Good Morning, It's 10.30am and we are are of for a steady drive to Cannock for our overnight stay, so we did not have far to travel The Celebration of Life for one of Lynne's family and a friend.
Little did we realise just how short a distance we had to travel, but both of us were suffering a bit from yesterday.
When we booked it was £39.00 for the room and we soon found out why! you had to use the M6 Toll !!
Bloody annoying, we did try to see if there was another way to the Days inn, but gave up in disgust.
we were a couple of hours early, so we had some lunch in the services, as decided we did not want breakfast as we were still pretty much full up from Dinner.
Again we were met with cheerful happy staff and a room on the ground floor just a short distance from the reception desk.
Now the room was a disabled room! but to get into the shower you had to climb in the bath ??
The bed was a small double barely big enough for us both and the mattress was very uncomfortable and we kept rolling into the middle of the bed.
They advertise iron and other things available, but no plugs to plug them into, luckily the staff were very good and provided us with an extension lead even going the extra mile and getting one from W H smiths when they could not find their's so we could plug my sleep machine in the kettle socket....
I struggled to get any sleep and I do not think Lynne fared much better !
If we had know just how close we were we would have stayed an extra night at Deanwater Hotel.
We will not be staying at another days in unless we are desperate!!
