These were the originals, so I am unlikely to find any better size or quality, but there are Zip Filed folders, that I hope can be recovered with better quality pics.
We will just have to wait n see......
Enjoying the drive
Its poring with rain and going over the bridge
shame we couldn't see out of the car very well.
As what we could see looked spectacular.
But we soon arrive at Kim's house and after a chat and some playing with Thomas,
it looks as if the rain had stopped,
so we decided to nip out
So we walk over to "Saint Teilo's Well".
"St Teilo was a Welsh saint and Bishop of this Cathedral of Llandaff"
Cardiff Cathedral
The current building was constructed in the 12th century on the site of an earlier church. Severe damage was done to the church in 1400 during the rebellion of Owain Glyndwr, during the English Civil War when it was overrun by Parliamentarian troops, and during the Great Storm of 1703. By 1717, the damage to the cathedral was so extensive that the church seriously considered the removal of the Following further storms in the early 1720s, construction of a new cathedral began in 1734,
Not found any basic history on this lectern yet, If I do I will add basic details..
HMS Llandaff was a Salisbury-class or Type 61 aircraft direction frigate of the British Royal Navy, named after the district of Llandaff in Cardiff, Wales.
She was built by Hawthorn Leslie and Company at Hebburn on the River Tyne, being laid down on 27 August 1953 and launched on 30 November 1955.
Llandaff was sold to the Bangladeshi Navy on 10 December 1976 and was renamed Umar Farooq.
In 2016 she was sold for scrap
I have a fascination with leaded glass windows, especially those that tell a story.
Maybe someday, I will do a brief history of this window ??
I have a fascination of cathedral buildings, born from the time I was brought up on the farm in Lincolnshire and every Saturday we would go shopping in Lincoln and I would head to the cathedral.
Maybe one rainy day I will research this ceiling and add here ?
What can one say !
Awesome !!
Says it all !
I cannot make out most of the important text from this pic.
Next time we go to visit Kim, I must get a better pic, so that I can find out a bit more history.
found these
hidden away
so most people
wouldn't see them
Currently no information on this box.
Maybe on a rainy day, I will try n research
We head of back to the cars, only to find its pouring down!
Only for us to turn around n spot these flags..
A stone built base with a granite slab on which is engraved an inscription.
It is in front of a ruined 13th century bell tower.
Shame we cant wander around inside, but probably no longer safe and as much as I hate to see our ruins fenced of, probably the best way to protect it...
Edge of the car park.
A very wet Lynne, Kim and Young Thomas as we walk back to the car.
we are all soaked thru to the skin,
well I am and we say our goodbyes and head back to the hotel.
A great day out visiting Lynne's younger sister Kim and her son Thomas.
I cant wait till we can do it again
we decide to by some salad stuff n make some sandwiches for tea as we both not really that hungry.
So we stay in the hotel and chill out for the night
