Morning Folks.
With the new DVD/DVDr arriving yesterday, its time to start rebuilding my computer a bit more..
Any parts removed will have been tested first and will end up on my Ebay ( https://www.ebay.co.uk/sh/lst/active ) account,
(unless someone on here makes me a sensible offer, before any bids are made).
The funds will then go back into my Computer pot for further maintenance/repair work....
Brand New 4TB SATA Harddrive, as it's stable m8 has gone faulty.
So I have backed up everything from the faulty new harddrive.
Filled out a return and will be posted tomorrow morning, and fingers crossed they agree with my diagnosis and replace it with another new harddrive.
My old DVD DVDRW is removed
Nothing wrong with this one, I just thought I would install a new one, whilst the computer was in bits.
This DVD DVDRW will be listed on Ebay in the next few days.
All my listings start and end over the weekends, it just makes things easier for me to manage processing quickly.
The new DVD DVDRW is the same make as my old one, just a newer model.
I believe even the speeds are the same.
Not that it matters as I do not use them very often.
An din goes the new DVD DVDRW unit.
In a different bay this time.
I am getting fed up of removing this harddrive bay, so will leave outside the case until, I have all the bays filled up with Tested & working Hard drives.
The faulty new harddrive, with just over 1000 hours usage!.
Now wrapped n boxed up with return label printed and waiting to be posted.
In goes the new 4TB harddrive into the bottom bay.
All connected up and working as it should.
Older 3TB Hard drive, waiting to be backed up.
Unfortunately I am having trouble with R-studio since i re-installed Ubuntu.
My serial number does not want to work with the latest version and they do not send out older versions, nor can I find the version I want on Torrent !!
So I am stuck till they reply, they have offered me a $12.00 discount to upgrade, but when I fill in the online forms it refuses them :( :(
