1st May 2021 - Vincent Update

Published on 21 August 2022 at 12:33

MOT's Run out on Vincent, and its booked in on Thursday.
Paul Wizbat Watson - comes around, to help me out.
Now with my health up till 2019, I would have done this myself!.
But today things are a lot difference, I hope its only a blip.
But only Time will tell.
But as Paul's ones of those friends that I have, that I am totally at my ease with, I don'y have to put a front on and I just walked thru that back door without a thought. :) :)
And after moving that table n chairs out the way, we soon start to catch up, as its been a while since we had caught up :) :)

So out comes Vincent into the daylight, looking a bit bedraggled n dirty, but that's the least of jobs for now.
As We had only done about 800 miles on Vincent,Since last MOT (and oil n Filter Change) we decided not to change the oil n filter :) :)
We tried to fire up Vincent but battery flat as a pancake :( :(
So its of with the seat.

Seats soon removed :) :)
We checked for terminal for my battery charger, but altho the right one, it did not have the sealing cap on it, so off the old one came and on went a spanking new one that was in the battery chargers box.
We also Changed the spark plugs.
Nothing wrong with the old ones, but I didn't know how long they had been in Vincent.
They all came out very wet n sooty, but it has been sat for a fair while.
So after MOT an Tax, if I am still ok will take for ride out and on way back will do a plug shop test.
We did notice the front tyre pressure was low, so a gentle ride down to Kingsway tyres will sort that out on Tuesday :)

Ive never seen anyone who enjoyed washing and polishing a bike so much !
But Vincent has not been this clean since I don't know when.
Just as we were gonna lift Vincent up, and drop the front wheel and take it into the work shop it started to spit with rain !.
So we quickly decided to revert to plan 1 mentions in Pic 3.
We soon gad Vincent back in its temporary home (still not sorted access to workshop let alone made space in workshop for him.
and got the charge m8 and will leave over night to charge up the battery.
This will mean I have to go back outside tomorrow, but at least Lynne is here, so won't be an issue to get thru the door !!
That's it for now Folks.
Will add another update on Thursday, unless with Lynne's help we decide to drop the front wheel and take it to my compressor, that's built into the framework of my workshop !!
