Today is a SAD day, but a day full of hope.
Today is the day, that Kev Fields, A Friend of long standing has agreed to take on CBRTIM's Build Process to the next stage.
Now we have been discussing this behind the scenes with Maz Edwards to make sure we are doing the right thing.
After its not only bloody hard to take on a project that has been started by others, but even harder to become one of the team & understand what we are doing and can work with us, to bring this to fruition.
Maz & Myself believe we have found that person in Kev.
So welcome aboard m8, we hope you enjoy your journey with us..
Timothy n Michael.
Most times were one was the other was as well.
But they also lead there own lives...
Time to get the access to the workshop, We cut back as much as we can
And gotta admit it does look far better :) :)
Also makes a nice change not to be stung by these nettles !
They are bloody viscous !!
Out comes CBRTIM'S frame to a small work area
and we start to add the front end to the frame
A real mess of CBRTIM bits to sort thru, to see whats needed ..
The Front end is buried under here somewhere !
CBRTIMS front wheel, says "Don't Leave me behind."
Slow but surely the front end emerges
Not much space but out come CBRTIM's front end
and for the 1st time in way to long, sees day light.
P.S.
I STILL HAVE NOT RECOVERED THE REST OF TODAY'S PICS.
AS SOON AS I DO I WILL ADD THEM.
AND COMPLETE THE UPDATE
Lynne n Me - Struggle down the garden, with this very heavy box.
That has been sat against Lynne's Freezer for the last few months !
Lynne puts the umbrella up, as it's getting bloody hot !
and we have a lot to do before Kev turns up........
New Bike stand, which I decide we will put together and use.
It will make the front end installation so much easier if CBRTIM is level.............
Time to try it out ???
Will it work ??
Nope !!
It won't pump up :( :(
and we give up on the stand, remove the bubble wrap and fit the top bearing in place.
Time to remove some of the bubble wrap from the trees
That's looking better, now we can get to everything..............
In goes the bottom tree and soon bolted up :) :)
Then on goes the top tree.
We find the washer on the barrel studs !
Paper is there to protect the paint work!
But on one of my falling down episodes, have scratched this bit :( :(
So it will need to be re-done later on.........
With the aid of a block of handy wood, we lift the front end into place
Then using Maz's test girder arms, we start to put the front end together
It's not a quick job, !
Time to install the engine removal rail
Another bottom arm is in place,
Bolts are temp build bolts :) :)
The ones we will use at the end of the final build are stored away safely :) :)
CBRTIM's very much one off Handle Bars.
Maz - used one of Tim's Sketches as an idea :) :)
and modified so I can ride with them.
As old disabilities mean that normal bars make it very painful for me to use and limit the time I can spend in the saddle...
I done this panel and it's removed.
When I wasn't with it and should not have been anywhere near CBRTIM.
So all that work is wasted as they need to come off.
Time will show why !
Lynne helping buy tightening the Handle Bars & Fork bolts.
Not an easy job, when nothings square
and me keep moving everything about, as I struggle does not help !
But one thing Lynne n me don't do is give up very easily...........
and we are finally getting close.
The relief on Lynne's face says it all........................
Time for a breather and admire our handy work
we put CBRTIM's tank on top rail just to keep it safe.
Whats left of the Honga GL1400 Gold Wing seat.
That will form the basis of CBRTIM's seat
