Hi Folks ! - It's been a while, so here is an update.........................
Due to ill health with me, and Ken and other issues, things have ground to a halt at this stage!!
Whilst on way to Ken's workshop the Transit broke down ! and refused to start !!
So got RAC to bring us home and the transit sat outside our house for a while.
My Speach, balance and eyesite, has taken aturn for the worse and I just sorta vegitated in bed, that and other issues left me fighting the black dog and not eating or bothered with doing anything else as either couldnt stand for long, balance when walking making me sick plus the eyeside issue meant I kept knocking into things and no vision in left eye!
Things just stayed as they were, till Monday, when I finally could see enough to drive the transit to Kingsway Tyres, just down the road.
The transit not only in snail pace mode, but now jerking all over the place, but finally got there!.
Spoke to Doug slowly as my speach was really bad, but finally they gave me a lift home, leaving the transit with them.
Now Doug had warned me that he just does not have the experiance staff anymore, so they may not be able to resolve the issue.
But they would have a good look at it to see if they could help.....
Got a call from them Wednesday morning, the van has a short open curcuit on No.3 injector. The injectors and wires were in water, so they dried that up and spayed everything with water repellant, but still the same issues.
They have tested all the injector wireing and it all checks out.
They are unable to replace the injectors due to lack of experiance workforce, but recomended me another garage locally. - Cost some money in there coffee pot :) :)
So I phoned up Tomlinsons garage, and they have the same issue, no engineers there anymore capable of replacing and coding the injectors.
I had already decided to replace all the injectors, pricey but to me the best way....
Money I could ill afford to do this, but it has to be done!
Tomlinsons gave me another garrage in Sutterton, (about 15 miles away).
I phoned them up, but they could not understnad my speach, so I got Kingsway to ring them up and explain what they have done and found.
I am just waiting on a quote now, but hopefully if they can fit me in, will somehow get the transit to them Friday or next week.
Ken - is still not very well, but has good n bad days. As soon as we have the transit running properly, I will get it booked in to have roof rack fitted, water tanks fitted and plumbed into the van.
Today my plan is to see how long I can stay awake and down stairs, in the hope that this weekend, I can carry on with the conversion.
