Hi Me...........
I am nervous twitching very unsettled and scared. It has been a while since I have entrusted any of our vehicles, since the fiasco with CBRTIM!.
And thisi is playing havoc with my mind thinking every negative thought it can, when you are fighting the Black Dog (as those that do, will know) A situation you try to avoid like the plague.
Today we go and collect the transit, look over the work done, talk about future work we need to be done, as I am no longer able to do the jobs.
Before we go into the details, a little bit of history about how I come to meet Ken and why He got the 1st major job, we are doing for the conversion.
Many of you may remember in my FarceBook days and when we had "Guys" our old Blue MK3 Transit, I used Graham Scarboro at Coningsby, and we not only struck up a life long friendship, but also a very good working relationship.
Now when Graham and me had my "Guys" in his workshop, all stripped down to sort the lower skirts out and to do all the work, that people never see, but is critical to the safety/strength of the transit.
Ken turned up one day and he took keen interest in what Graham and I were doing, altho at the time he could not understand why ( he did after we had finished it and took it for a spin....)
Anyway Ken would occasionally turn up, and eventually Graham was working full time and could no longer look after my vehicles for me and I kinda lost tough with Ken, but never forgot about him.
I have yet to find/recover this transits pics n updates, but they will be added here when I do...
When we had the white MK5 that I wanted the bodywork sorting and spraying, I stopped on way to open nite at Old Nicks and had a chat with Graham.
But he was winding down and mentioned Ken's name again, He said he will not let you down, but that he does it for a living, so the labour costs will be a lot higher.
At that stage money was tight, I had spent shed loads on panels inner sills n parts needed and we found a small company just a few hundred yards away and they did that job (unfortunately The transit got written off outside our house withing a few months of coming out of the paintshop).
I have yet to find/recover this transits pics n updates, but they will be added here when I do...
Anyway the years roll by and late 2022 we decided we wanted a camper, but with prices so high and we knew we had the basis of a solid reliable doner in our green MK6 XLWB HR transit I thought about Ken again.
So out comes me cards wallet and I still have his, so a quick phone call and a chat and I drove over so he could look the transit over and we could discuss things. (not gonna go into details here, as already covered in teh Albums.
But I decided I would trust Graham's advise about Ken and his work and give him a try. Now normally when I try a new person out, I do not leave my vehicles with them and it is usually a small job, so that I can gain confidence in a person and his work.
This time was different as there were several jobs that needed doing ASAP so I left the transit with him, not realising just how it was gonna affect my mental health.
I will leave the rest of the update of what happened and pics to the Transits Update Album, which I will get done later on.
But for now am shattered so gonna grab a few hours sleep.
