21st March 2023 - Disco Transit Green Long Wheel base and Hi Roof Conversion

Published on 22 March 2023 at 10:56

Hi Folks......

After Sunday's steady progress on the painting, that Lynne done.

I am back on my own, I am hoping to be well enough to get into the transit later on today and try n finish what Lynne started yesterday......

After the painting is done, I can them measure the distance for the last 2 base rails and get them screwed in place.

The MDF base board, will have to wait till the weekend, unless I get a rare visitor.... to carry it into the transit and help me, measure it up and get it cut n screwed into place.

I am gonna have to go thru the off-cuts of ply board, and get them measured and cut to fit, various jobs, that have been waiting to finish.
Hopefully this will use up a fair bit of the off-cuts, which means less moving around of the timber, when ever we need to do any jobs, where they are in the way.

We have 1 3mm 8x4 3 ply sheet left at the moment, and I will try n get it measured for the next roof panel.

I have added loads of jobs to the list below, which has filled it back up nicely.
Fingers crossed, we can wizz thru many of them quickly.

Double Bonus job, to have worked out and cut the bed frame & have it mounted!

I need to have a tidy up, as not much room for me to walk, let alone work!

Brought these containers from Wilco's, they were the only whheled storage box I could find in Spalding.

I just hope they will fit, they certainly are well built.

Nope, altho it fits, there is another box, plus the wheels are 90 degrees out, so when loaded up could overtime break them!

This would be ideal, but this way they are about 3" too wide, as kitchen and passenger wheel arch are in the way..

This could be a solution, but until we cut the access hole, we will not know.

I laid out teh rest of teh bed supports and found I was on short, so measured this bit of timber and added it to the rear of the bed.

This allows me to move the other batons out of my way.
Makng it a lot easier for me to move around.

Only got about 3 hours in the transit today, mainly due to not being able to see properly and some other things.

A good 80% of that time was thinking time, on how I hope things will work out.

It is sad news, that we have had to canel going over to Ken's Tomorrow, but his health comes 1st.
We have penciled in Friday instead and he is aware of the limp mode issue the transit has,

so I am not sure just what order the jobs will be done in, till we talk.
