22nd December 2022 - Disco Transit Green Long Wheel base and Hi Roof update

Published on 23 December 2022 at 08:33

Hi Folks.

Fingers crossed I will be back in the transit today.
Not this morning tho as my spine is still very cold and lower back aching, so waiting on medications to take effect.

Postie has delivered the new slide door rubber I ordered 2 days ago, as I know mine is shot!

I am not sure when I will remove the old one and install this nice new one, at the moment am hoping we get a day were the the temp is around 12 degrees C plus.

Will be put into the transit today, so not cluttering up the house over xmas.

The new rear door rubber has arrived as well.
I am not sure at this stage whether there is supposed to be one of each door, as there was only 1 fitted to the left door when I brought the van.
So a bit of research is needed - I hope not as these door rubbers are just short of £50.00 each!!
Again I am not sure when I will remove the old one and install this nice new one, at the moment am hoping we get a day were the the temp is around 12 degrees C plus.

Will be put into the transit today, so not cluttering up the house over xmas.

Now we are Halfords, after trying to find somewhere to park. Lynne was stood in 2 places for me, to drive into when some idiot in a white van nearly ran here over!
No apologies just stormed off, eventually we found a space, unfortunately not long enough, so the rear was over the lines and someone complained to Lynne as I was parking and I heard here say he uses a zimmer frame and this is as far as he can walk!

Anyway finally we are in Halfords, typically at

the furthest point away from the shop front, looking at socket sets.

But I here you shout, you have loads in the workshop! I do, but these will be staying with the van and I do not have cases in the workshop to put a set into!.

I was no looking for a large or expensive set, just something that would be useful, not take up too much space, and that could be stored in a built in storage cubby.

so the above set, at £32.00 seemed best value of the budget sets and was reduced to that price from £69.00

I also needed a drill set, again not looking for a set that gonna work very much, but be easy to keep sharp.

There was not many to choose from and this was the cheapest they had.

But will save me loads of time trying to find drills in the workshop, were if I am correct I cannot get to because Timothy's parts are in the way!.
This way I will have them to hand, and again tehy will stay with the van.

Lynne left me to catch the train, to go to Emma's to help her and Timmy come on the train tomorrow.

On the drive Home I was making plans on what I was gonna do in the back of the van, when I had a massive accident!
Luckily I had learned this lesson before, so I had one of those water proof sheet things on the seat, but it went thru that, by the time I had cleaned it all up, got outa me wet clothes and had a strip wash, My spine was frozen again and I was in so much pain I just went to bed.

Fingers crossed I will be back in the van tomorrow,
