Fingers crossed and finally get Kurgan ready fro a test run.

Donna Garbutt - This used to be our bike

Stephen Osborn - Did it ! - i did put repeated ads n posts to see if I could trace the original builders

Stephen Osborn - Would be nice to meet up and maybe have a chat about Kurgan sometime

Donna Garbutt - We got it off my husbands mate. He built it.

Kurgan gets carefully propped up leaning on its right side.

of comes teh foot clutch forwards linkage.

of comes the gs rear brake cyl that I am using

off come the fluid reservoir

A quick drive down to local bike shop and a quid procures this screw on nipple.

altho its not the one I need it will do the job,

as the stainless rod has broken inside the old nipple,

So I will need to get another trailie hydrolic clutch at some stage.

Back on goes the gs rear brake cyl that I am using

The front forward linkage is re connected.

and the fluid reservoir is re-bolted back in place

now the slow bit, finally managed to get enough rod available to fit the screw nipple and all tests working.

Finally got Kurgan fired up.

A few niggling problems have shown there ugly heads.

1. for some unknown reason if I twist the throttle when cold the engine dies - have to leave on choke for 4-5 mins before I can use the throttle, then takes a fair while before smoothish response.

2. still smokes like a pig, but now just white smoke, so hopefully a nice run will solve this.

3. the Klicktronic on hand clutch does not always want to go into 1st gear - but does on foot clutch.

Nope - As soon as I sat on Kurgan I couldn't settle the hyperventilation and my heart beat went loopy !. Will try again on Friday.
