Hi Folks.
After the abortion that happened yesterday, I am looking forward to a better day today!
Even if the weather, is doing it's best to make sure it's gonna attack my back :( :(
The bank account has taken a huge hit recently, so I need to get more items listed, at moment got loads of small bits in the computer room, till they allow me to get to the more lucrative bits.
I still cannot get into the disco room, I tried yesterday to get the door open, but only managed about 6" :( :(
But will have another go in next few days with Lynne n Michael giving me a hand, we may just be able to do it between us.
Not that really helps me, as still not got to the dining table, let alone get it cleared just yet!
But it would be nice that when I am ready I can start pulling a few bits out an get them serviced n tested and listed.
Another thing that is gonna hamper the fund raising is traditionally things do not sell from Dec 23rd - end of Feb, but I am gonna keep my fingers crossed and hope things do sell, as I have to order the 2 most expensive items soon.
So today is gonna be 30 min or finish a job sessions and then come in the house and get on with other things, whilst resting my back!
All being well I hope to get at least 5 trips into the van today, before it get's to much for my back n legs.
Right let's get out there and see what I can get done, no real plan, just find a very small easy job to do and get on with it as best I can :) :)
Thought I had everything tide down, but the gentle drive into town proved otherwise, so first job today, is recreate the walkway, as I need to get to the toilet as I use it as a seat, whilst I am working....
I have left the side door open as expecting fed ex to drop a package of, but the cold n damp soon start to affect me!.
I soon have it all stacked up, but no more bunjy's available, I think they are in one of teh sheds!
Will have to find them.
The tiles will be reused as insulation and sound deadening, and will buy new ones to lay on the floor, when I have finished all the building.
My next job, is to remove the tie bars, I will want to get all 4 of them off ASAP and get them listed, as they will be in my way.
So if you need any for a long wheel base transit - send me a message of pm me on farcebook..
The bottom dark area is definitely damp !
I am just hoping it is nothing major???
It's a good job I decided on the slightly dearer set of sockets, as I thought the nuts were 8mm and the set I nearly brought only went to 8mm,
So paying the extra £4.00 has paid off as it has several smaller than 8mm :) :)
That's all the bolts out I can reach, now to undo the bunjy straps and slide the kitchen unit out of the way.
That's better, I can now just about get to all the bolts.
And its now free of the van, but the bungy straps the other end is making getting the bar out a bit problematic!
That's the first tie bar out, just in time as my back is being affected by sitting with it to the open door and the damp!
And a load more screws for me to undo the next time I get in here....
So a quick tidy up, just in case I need to use the van, and in doors to hopefully warm up pretty quickly.
Fed Ex just dropped me new sliding door window kit :) :)
Now just gotta find someone who knows what they are doing to install it :) :)
Once it is installed, I will get some heavy duty grill and fit on inside to make just that bit safer from breaking in....
There is one good point with the rain we have been getting!
If it can it will find away inside or leak!.
This leak is over the side door, More expense I can do without.
But after new year, I will nip over to my Transit man near Skegness and get him to look at it and cost it up for me...Might as well get the front done at the same time.
Right it's time this panel or is it 2 panels comes out, so I can see what the body's like behind it.
If I am lucky it will just need a good sweep out, wash with sugar soap and get the outer insulation in place!.
If I am not lucky, which is my normal state ???
The only Light I have at this time, is what will become the toilet room light :) :)
The battery seems to be lasting very well, and its charged by USB port, so will be easy to charge when I am away.
and I have another one, to use as backup :) :)
mmm
I do not think this board is salvageable,
So will probably get cut up and used in the garden fire drum.
As I suspected another board behind, this time original ford ones.
Looks in good nick,(apart from the wet part at the bottom, we will give it a few days to dry out) so may get reused behind the final panelling.
and they are both off!
I am not sure they will be salvageable, but may be ok for templates....
looks good, but on closer inspection the centre rib is twisted ???
I can see no reason for this, all the panels look original, so I am not sure what has happened here.
I will try n straighten it later on.
Apart from that its water tight, just very dusty....
I have moved the kitchen unit so I can carry along this side of the vans side.
But so far things are looking pretty good.
But I spoke too soon ???
Felt some drips of water on my head, looked up and saw this!
It is weeping along the seam, so will get it looked at after xmas!.
The roof does dip a bit here and holds about and 1" of water !!!, so may have to see about once it is repaired pushing the roof up a little
bit and adding a strengthener to stop it happening again.
The other side looks dry, but is a mess, so will get looked at!.
Almost glad now I was not well enough to panel the roof in as would have been an even more expensive shock!
I suspect it's gonna mean my target date for leaving may have to be put back a few weeks or so, but depends on how quick I can get it booked in and how much it is gonna cost to repair!
Not too much longer now I hope, before I have all the panels removed.
And can finally see what the total damage to repair on this side of the van!
Time to make a bit of pace, luckily insulation does not weigh much, and I am soon removing the bolts, to remove the final rail tie this side.
Things are ticking over nicely, I seem to have found my comfortable work zone, and I do not want to stop...
If I decide not to use these panels, They will make good templates, and maybe sold off when I have finished with them.
Space is getting tight in here now, so at some stage, I am gonna have to make some choices.
The last panel comes of and again everything looks nice n sold, just a good clean, wash and will be ready for insulation :) :)
That just leaves this board to go and if it goes as easy as the rest I will be a happy bunny....
Not sure if the board will be usable, will have to wait till it dries...
And just as my lower back is starting to complain about the cold n damp, it final board comes away and it all looks good.
But the final state will not be known until I remove all the dust n much left from the previous owner!
But I remain cautiously optimistic at this stage.
So a quick tidy up and it's time to go n warm up a very happy person.
If all goes well I will be back again tomorrow!!
