Double Bonus job, to have worked out and cut the bed frame & have it mounted!

Today as usual for a Saturday is a bit of a clean up, before we start.

But today, is slightly different as we will be hopefully starting to build the bed frame, if all goes to plan.

I soon have the tools picked up, as I never got back out here on Wednesday.

Right I start off doing up the bolts for the small strip that I cut out last week.

Only finger tight, as it will all be covered over.

We have moved all the sheeting, so it is not in our way for now.

And after we have taken loads of measurements, we think we have a plan on the bedroom area.

But we need a total clean area, So Lynne gets out Gay Gordon and gets all the sawdust up, leaving a nice clean area for us to work on....

as we currently have no planes,

we are gonna draw it out on the floor in full scale.

Damm enforced break as I have had a serious accident!.
So as I have to take me pills will have an early lunch as well.

We start marking out the frame plan for the bed

The Small part of the ottoman, it actually goes close to the sliding door.

we have space here and have marked out where 4 x storage boxes on wheel will go.

Access will be by the bed side wall nearest Lynne's feet

But before we can start on the bed frame, we need to insulate and board, were the bed will be.

On goes the black insulating foam.

Now as we needed anther 1 1/2" for the mattress to actually fir across the van.

We have to compromise on insulation, so No DODO Insulation here, as it is too thick.

We find an off-cut of 3mm ply and it is just too big, so we cut and trim it to shape

It takes us a couple of hours, but finally we have it all cut & sanded and it fits atreat.

I have sprayed the silver foil insulation, which we are using to save space

And the 3mm ply board is soon sprayed and we are waiting the obligatory 5 mins

And we mate the silver insulation to the back of the 3mm ply, and as my knees are holding the board up, Lynne get to work with the roller.

And we are now waiting about 20 mins for the glue to go off fully, so we nip in for a nice pint of hot chocolate...

No the spray glue has gone off, it is time to trim the silver insulation.

To keep the board in place, we decide to spray glue the foam insulation & the silver insulation.

That's the board where the bed will rest against, when it's frame is built.
We are hoping the glue will hold over the next day or so, until, we can get the board secured properly.

So now we have moved to the other side of the bed and we soon have it insulated.

We have this used bit of 3 ply board, removed when we took all the panels down.

We soon have it marked out and cut to size, it does have a bit of a bow at one end, but We can sort that out later.

It has taken us over 2 hours to get all the edges cut again,

And we soon have it spray clued along with the silver insulation

and after the 5 mins, we carefully put the 2 together and Lynne has roller-ed all the air pockets out.

As it is gone 7pm and it is getting cold in here, we call it a night to let the spray glue set.

Today has been a very long day, and we are both shattered, but yet again we have learnt just how long it takes us to get 2 panels done!.

Ok we have also done a lot of planning, which should start to bare fruit in the next few days.

But at least I have saved spending out over £300.00 on a new mattress, by working things out and making the old mattress that we both like fit instead.

Which has turned out as a good thing, as this weekends SALES are even less than last weeks ??
Which is very disappointing, as when we have the bed frame stated I do not think we have enough 3x2 to complete the job!
Let alone order other items, that are holding up other jobs.
