Hi Folks.....
I am looking for another steady productive day again today...............
I have now run out of money, with just enough in the bank to keep the account open....
Luckily I have brought plenty of items and they are ready for me to use.
So fingers crossed I will not loose any time, but Lynne will get a lot of here kitchen back :) :)
Just a few items arrived late last night and the only other item I am waiting on is Sound deadening pads, which should be here tomorrow.
and that will be it for the arrivals for now.
Altho most of my focus is on the transit, I am gonna have to refocus back to tidying up the computer room and sorting and finding items to get listed.
And hope sales come in and the bank account recovers quickly.
I am not sure, but apart from some more Solar Panels, another bank of batteries, Security locks & other devices for the transit. ( it already has imombilisor,Tracking and some cameras, altho I plan to add some more cameras, so the transit is covered all round.
I think now the major expenses are over with (fingers crossed)
All I need to do now, is to get the transit looking like it is nearly done.
BLACK+DECKER Workmate,WM301
Ok it is there basic model, but we have been struggling along without one, and I had decided things would happen a lot quicker, if we had a workmate.
Evolution Power Tools 046-0001A R210CMS Compound Saw with Multi-Material Cutting, Bevel, 45 Degree Mitre, 3-Year Warranty, 1200 W, 230 V-Domestic, Black
At £49.99 new I cannot go far wrong and with the workmate I am hoping to speed things up loads.
As well as get straight edges to my cuts.
Huawei E5785-92C LTE6 Mobile WiFi White
Ok I was not gonna bother with WiFi but after talking to Lynne, I decided that it was essential, especially if I am unwell.
Weirdly white was almost £10.00 cheaper than Black, but I am not bothered as it will be hidden away!
Bingfu 4G LTE Antenna TS9 Aerial 7dBi Magnetic Base External Network Antenna (2-Pack) Compatible with Huawei MiFi Hotspot Router USB Modem.
Again pure luxury, but will pull the best performance out of the Huawei WiFi unit.
They are magnetic, so easy to put up on arrival and remove before travelling.
I will use them as magnetic's for now, till I work out the best position for the antenna's and then make up brackets and mount to the roof rack.
Unfortunately Amazon has sent me the wrong kit, and for those of you out there, that look at the bundles they put together ( In this case E5785 & The Antenna were a bundled item, that says is compatible with each other! )
They are not !
The E5785 does NOT have any external antenna ports!!
So I am sending them both back!
And have ordered elsewhere.
I am very disappointed as the whole process wasted just over an hour!
When I could have got something else done..
Before I go out to the Transit, I add a few more post it notes, update a few and deleted 2 :) :)
Still way to many to be done, but I am hoping after this morning that things will speed up a fair bit.
I have a quick tidy up and move around.
I have turned the radiator up to remove the slight chill and dampness.
It always amazes me that this small oil filled rad, once the back is warn, you can turn it right down to minimum settings and will keep the van nice n cosy.
It should take even less as I insulate and panel the van :) :)
I will NOT be taking the Rad with me.
I head back to the house and carry the Black n Decker & the chop saw boxes into the van.
Had to take 45 min break as carrying them, caused a lot of discomfort and my knees gave way down the passage way.
So it does not look like I am gonna get as much done today as I hoped:( :(
Right Assembly time.
It takes me over an hour, and just need to find a hammer to finish.
Next up is the new compound saw, not much assembly, but took ages to find the lock!!
All ready now for there 1st job of the day.
Damm gotta go back indoors
and change clothes again....
If all goes to plan, once I have worked out a place for it all to stand and have enough space for me to use them both.
This will speed things up hugely.
I tried to save the money and make do but it was just crippling my hands n back and got to the stage were I have been putting of doing any wood cutting.....
I am sure Lynne n Michael will hate me each night & morning taking them into the transit before they go to work, and then remove them into the house when I have finished for the day...
Last minute addition, I woke up yesterday and sent Lynne a message asking if she thought it would be worthwhile having some sockets & USB sockets near the door ?
She thought it was a great idea.
I am not sure yet whether it will be here, I am just trying things out.
Lynne washed this over the weekend, so all I had to do was give it a good wipe over with an tak cloth and some wire wool,
But only wire wool'led the areas I I will be attaching the sound dampening pads.
After another clean, another sound dampening pad is used in this hole.
The plans we have pencilled in at the moment is to insulate line with 3mm hardboard and use as a cubby hole :) :)
I am not sure yet, whether we can make this into a usable sized cubby hole
But it still gets a cut in 2 sound dampening pads.
Bloody waterworks again, but before I go, I get a white rattle can out and start to give the bulkhead it's 1st top coat.
A can, even with very thin spray does not go very far.
But I know this coat will be dry when I get back in the van in about 30-45 mins and can carry on doing something else.
I am hoping for at least 2 more visits to the transit today, after that I will have run out of under ware n trousers.
So may get at least 1 more can added to diff area of the bulk head.
But already it is making a huge difference inside, gone is the dark depressing black and it will end up a nice white gloss when it is all sprayed.
I am not sure whether I will panel the bulk head at some stage, to start with it will just to put pics of mt family and some nice pics I take were ever I end up...
I have just emptied an old shopping bag, so now time for a bit of a tidy up....
The previous coats are nice n dry, so it is time to get 3 or for more coats on the bulk head.
The battery area will only get one more coat, as it will be covered up with some padding for the batteries.
That is the battery area now done, just gotta wait for it to dry and i can get on and finish this area.
I am hoping for a warm dry day tomorrow, so I can leave the door open and clear the air, as it is somewhat paint dusty....
But meanwhile I keep on spraying when the paint is dry, so that it goes off overnight and I can start to measure up the rest of the battery boxes framework..
This area gets another coat, I am loath to try and lay on the paint any thicker, as I think it would just start run all over the place
On the other hand, the difference so far, is totally different feeling to the whole van.
Ok it will look a bit clinical to start with, but as soon as we start adding some pics, it will break it up nicely.
Some 7 coats of paint in and it is now starting to cover properly.
Still gonna need some more coats tho..
But the paint is starting to cover better now, and each rattle can is going that much farther....
Damm enforced break!!
Altho I was working on the passenger side of the van earlier, there is not enough room, to work in safely, so I decide to remove the paper that was protecting the floor.
Dunno why I bothered to mask it up, as it will be covered with some battery acid proof padding !
But I am still happy with the results, considering the time of year!
What a contrast!
But I am itching to get on with things, so now the paper n tape are gone, I can move onto the next job, in this area
the 1st two off cuts are cut to fit.
Not 100% perfect, but the best I can do with the limitations of tools and what my body allows me to do..
The next old floor tile is soon cut to fit and laid in place.
So using some of the old floor rubber mats, I start to cut them to fit the battery area floor.
This will give the battery base some good padding and there will also be the acid mats on top of this, when they arrive.
Working out the best way round to start cutting this tile down to size ?
And that is were I call it today, as tea has just arrived and I am struggling to stay awake and focus!.
Not really happy with today's progress, but it was purely down to my health issues that caused just too many breaks and for too long a duration.
On the other hand, what little I did get done stands out (it is just a shame that in a few days a lot of it will be covered in and will not be seen very often!.)
So I think the best thing I can do is grab an early night and hope for a better day tomorrow.
It would be nice to start using some of the timber up that I brought the other day and see some more progress.
I will start out on the battery compartments frame, as the main project for tomorrow, anything else will be a bonus..
