Hi Folks... We are back in the transit again today...
Hopefully, we will have another productive day..
Today's main job, will be to assemble the bathroom door.
We have found 2 x 2x3" timber to complete the shorter parts for the door.
Now we know the door will be about 3mm too large to fit in the door frame
This is because it is easier to plain down that be able to go n buy more timber at the moment.
We cutting the excess from the bathroom door frame, that we cut yesterday!.
All because I decided to change the way the frame will be assembled.
Finally we start assembling the door frame.
Remarkably for me, from this straight corner, all teh other parts were all square as well....
That's the hinged side of the door, all screwed together.
Time to flip the door frame over and pull the cross timbers square.
That is it, pretty much all done.
There are a couple of joints we are not 100% happy with.
But we will sort them out shortly.
The top of the door frame is not level !
and we need to plane off about 4mm from the hinged side, so that the door will fit nicely.
Importantly we have room at top to create the space we need at the bottom, when we put the foam tiles down later on.
Just had an accident, so we gonna have a late lunch at the same time.
Back soon..............
Amazon has just arrived with the 16mm drill bit, so now we can get some panelling done...
Will be using these were the transit frame has wires hidden inside.
We have removed the 3mm ply board that was propped up here the other day.
So we can get the insulation finished.
Lynne cutting the DODO Insulation to teh required lengths...
We soon have teh big panel insulated and used some masking tape to keep it in place
These 2 holes are next to be insulated.
At some stage in the future, we will remove the DODO insulation as we would like to make use of the space.
We do not know what for at this stage, but going away a few times should show us, what we need to make changes or total revamp of areas.
All nicely insulated with the DODO insulation/soundproofing on top of Sound Proofing pads, Black foam Insulation and the silver insulation.
So hopefully warm in winter and cool in summer when all is done...
and on goes the ply boarding.
At the moment we only have the sliding door side screwed in place.
As Michael is now home, we go inside to make him a brew of tea.
Another good day we think.
As some areas are coming to conclusion steadily.
But others are being held up, by lack of materials.
But will have to wait until transit is running once again.
So the plan is to finish as much as we can and use up as much of the material we have at the moment.
