Really struggling today, no motivation and the blues hit me hard, shame after last night at Old Nicks Taverns Jam night as it was such a blast and really enjoyed myself.
Tried going back to bed n slept for 4 hours, but didn't feel any better, so had to brag my arse down the workshop instead.
Mind you with the final wood delivery yesterday you have to be contortionist to get into the workshop at the moment, so these feelings are the last thing I need.
the 2x1 batons just fit inside the workshop on the diagonal corner to corner.
Unfortunately this means I have to get down on all fours to get into the workshop and also space is once again very tight
So I decide its time to use some of the 2x2 batons up with the first of some shelving units.
Yes its not straight! but then again the wall isn't either, so am trying to make the front uprights straight, with the back ones following the wall.
Both ends made up, for now will remain free standing, as i don't have any brackets, so its screws all the way
Not ideal trying to measure on your own
But eventually I get the correct measurements and get the framework screwed together.
I use some off cuts to strengthen the lower shelf.
They are not yet screwed to the back rail, will do this when I next pull the unit out
Underneath will sit the gas fire and hopefully the paddock stand will also fit
as its not too wide and storage boxes actually sit on the cross rails, just cut n screwed in a hardboard off cut covering
Right these shelves are gonna be close to one another.
so decide it would be easier to give first coat of paint
now to the shelf
and the framework
Also the wall board gets a fresh coat as its been 5 years since it was last painted
the back wall inside the framework gets its first coat
and time to start the second coat of paint
Not had the heater on this arvo as its not needed and still in T-shirt
and it don't seem to be affecting the drying times either
that looks better
Time to start painting the bottom rails
which makes the wall look dull n gloomy
Ok only 1 coat so far,
but looks a lot brighter
I find the red tubs - just 2 lengths of 2x1 will do for there shelving
( yes I know the pic shows 2x2)
The grey boxes gonna need a frame and boarding.
That's it in the workshop today,
time to head of back to the house
