26th March 2016 - Honda Big One CB1000F (P) Update

Published on 13 October 2022 at 05:15

After a great day working on The Big One yesterday.

But not feeling to good, so only a quick visit today to see if the crank balance shaft is free yet after a night of soaking in WD40.

Again, the pics is this album, have been recovered from my faulty hard drive.

If I find any the same, but better quality, I will replace these ones....

Some of the boxed the Big Ones engine is in
Looks a mess but everything is inserted in order of removal

Crank Shaft and gearbox  :): )

All the WD40 has gone, A good sign.

So after a clean up Tried to turn the balance shaft - but still seized solid

So I fill up the groove in engine casing again and will leave it another 24 hours.

pic of the part I am trying to get out

As the frame cures its looking more n more shinier

Right cleaned up this area once more and bolted adjuster shaft back on

After over an hour of various ideas, its still not moved

In frustration I start to tidy up one of my shelves

Have 2 x 5ltr SAE 20 - make me a sensible offer and I will sell, as I have no need of them.

Collection only I'm Afraid or they go onto ebay!

Looking better

And even have space, for me to put other items

Which is a real bonus, as I have run outa shelf space ages ago

Michael brought this for my birthday   -
Make: Honda CB1000 FP Big One - Model Year: 1993 - 1968

Section: Gearshift Drum
Section Part: BEARING, BALL, 16005 (NTN)
Honda Part Number 91008-374-003

Zoe Osborn - Brought this for my birthday

Chain, Oil Pump can be ordered. Fits Honda cb1000p Big One. 15161-MM5-003

Right always good to start tidying up in a corner

All Honda Big One Engine Parts I have been dismantling

Its an organised mess, but I will be needing the extra space, in the next few days.

This old chain from the big one is scrap, so now in rubbish bag

Always the hardest point is the start  but looking far better now

The shelf, I tidied yesterday and the extra space made,

comes in handy, with more oil..

Looks kinda messy, I have never been good at making shelves look tidy

I like it , if only the rest of the workshop will look the same !!

Another box of engine parts Joins in - in this tidy corner

That's just about all the boxes of the Big Ones engine internals.

I've Kept the Piston n Rings as they look good, But these barrels are in need of a re-bore..

On Ebay they go as I have a few other barrels in better condition.

The stater motor is good so goes in the engine boxes

the old knackered Big Ones Cases - not sure what I am gonna do with them yet ??
As I have given up trying to free up the balance shaft :( :(

Finally we get to an old Honda CB1000F - sc28 engine

That is part stripped from under the work bench

And out comes the part stripped engine,

Unfortunately for me its not as stripped as I hoped,

but as its the last one I have

( I must have sold the other 3 I thought I still had)

Michael comes down and just like his big brother Timothy,

lifts the engine onto the work mate by himself

Will try n get this clutch basket out without breaking it this time - I hope

But the important bit for me !

Does the crankshaft balance shaft move freely ?

It sure does

that's were we call it a night
