26th November 2022 - Transit Conversion.
Hi Folks.
It's been a while, since Lynne n me were last out and deciding just what we want to achieve and then try n get started.
With my health and Lynne being so shattered, that she falls asleep when she sits down, things understandably have been put on the back burner..
Today that changes!
The post it Notes - to do list has grown somewhat over the last few days, not because, I have been focused enough to start breaking the jobs down,
But getting back into contact with Strawbs, for some much needed advise, and before I realised what was happening, the Post It Notes lists grew! :) :)
so much so, that today, we will remove the mattress to the spare room, and if Lynne likes it the bed frame will follow, as we will lay it out for now.
At least it will be useful, if anyone stays over. The single Bed, we will dismantle and put as much as we can underneath the transits bed, & the rest into our room.
The bonus job, will be if we can get the 8X3" beams removed as well.
Lynne n Michael have taken, the mattress to the spare bedroom.
Ready for us to replace the single bed with out double, till we need it back in the transit.
MMMMM this is why I will not be using MDF when we rebuild the bed!
It may be dearer, the route we will go down, but will be a lot stronger and less likely to bow, like this board has.
So whilst I am waiting for them to come back, I look at some old photo's I put on me kindle, to help me figure out how we put the bed together.
Now I know it is not screwed into place!.
According to some old pics, from when we put the bed together, we cut the MDF so it was a very snug fit, and we had to wriggle it in....
And it took some time and patience to get it to slide in level.
Right I think, I have a general idea, of how to get these sheets of MDF out!.
A lot of wriggling, lifting one corner and lowering the other and it starts to slowly slide out :) :)
Right that board is now stood by the door, ready for Lynne and Michael to take down the Brown shed for now.
So I am sitting on the other board, like a lemon when Lynne comes back and tells me Michael's in the bath!
That means no more progress today, as I cannot even help to move the MDF :( :(
So gonna have a rest and then go upstairs and
try and dismantle the single bed, and then possible do some more painting in the living room.
To say I am dissapointed is an understatement !!
