29th September 2022 - House and Garden Update

Published on 30 September 2022 at 05:26

Good evening Folks.

Been a mixture of a day for me today, but considering just how bad I have been Lynne seems very happy with what I have managed to do today.

As much as I would love days like today to be the norm or even better, I am a realist and I no longer have that fighting spirit that people seem to think I had.

Arrived in the post this morning.
As the last few days we seem to have some midges who want to join us.

So we are playing safe, we have the bands as well, so fingers crossed they go n pester someone else on Saturday.
We have ordered 6 more tubes, just to be safe, especially as we are finding out that I am easily confused and get information mixed up between products when I am searching for what we want!.

I went out side and had a wander around, and looks like Michael has been very busy on his 2 days off work.

I did not want to go back inside and felt like doing something.
So I found a can of this lovely paint colour and gave the gate its first coat. and what a difference it has made.
But when I went to rest whilst it dried I opened the front door and my legs gave way, pulling one of the flower tubs of the wall.
So spent the rest of morning and afternoon asleep, letting my body and mind recover.

I could here noises from the garden, so I got up saw it was Jamie coming to finish of this phase of work that he has been working on for us.

Before I went out I took this pic and decided that we will have to clear this area, to make more room and for the dining room chairs, to be used on Saturday.

Jamie has been busy and this area is really starting to look good

He even kept working thru the showers. to finish this area tonight, as he has other jobs to goto

Lynne surveying Jamie's work and has said she is well happy.
And I know he's name has been passed around, so he is gonna get busier.

This area is not finished, but is enough to make Saturday a safe place to be.
The 2 large slabs, have just been laid down, we will try n temp level them, before Saturday. As Jamie will be back to finish the rest of this path down to slabbed area were Vincent is currently Sitting.

He has also measured up for more quotes, one job deffo to be done this year and at worst the next job early next year.

Before we let him know other jobs we have for him.

Once the blue shed has been emptied and dismantled, that area will be slabbed properly to finish this area off...
