Hi Folks, Finally a bit of an update for ya.....
Not as much of an update as I had hoped, but just not been well enough to drive the transit, since we got it back.
But on Wednesday 29th November, I woke up on the floor!
I had to call Lynne home from work, to help me.
Eventually between us I got up and after a fair while ended back in bed and fell sleep.
On Thursday 30th November, I felt I was well enough to drive !
So out I went, but the battery was flat!
Luckily my booster start pack was fully charged and I soon had the transit running.
There was enough fuel in the tank to do what I wanted, so I head of to "kennington commercials" at Bourne. (They had been recommended to me by "Karl Roberts), who had just had some work done on his recovery truck!
I had messaged them the day before on there facebook page, but I did not tell them I was coming, in case I couldn't drive that far!.
So I turned up feeling still pretty good.
There office was upstairs, but they ensconed me into the staff canteen and came and sat with me as we discussed the issues with my transit.
We discussed last years advisories, but we have decided on a different path, to take if for an MOT and see what it fails on !
After about an hour I headed back home, a bit groggy n tired and had an accident as I was getting out of the van.
I was sat at my computer going thru emails when a message arrived from them advising that MOT was next Friday 8th Nov.
If I wanted they would collect the transit and we will deal with things afterwards.
Hopefully I have found another garage I can trust, a bit closer that Matt, but they do jobs that Matt's garage don't so should complement each other nicelly (Time will tell).
They also no of a garage that specialises in camper conversions, so fitting and plumbing the water tanks should soon be sorted.
I said let's get the MOT out of the way first.
Saturday saw us near ely, were we went to look at an awning for the transit.
We do not want a big one, but a small one that will only be used when on sites and give just that little more space for when Lynne decides she wants to join me.
I would have preferred an air awning, but at £50.00 and only a few metal rods this will do.....
Now we can pack it up properly and find a safe storage for it in the back somewhere...
It has only been used for 5 days, so just needs a good wash, before we put it away.
and some cargo straps to hold it down if it get's windy..
