Hi Folks...............

Right, I am sat down n just chillin in the living room, and I decide to see if I can find out what is wrong with Lynne's Computer, that the new power supply did not fix!.

Rather than work inside the case, I decide to rip it all apart and get down to the real basics....

That is the case emptied!.

I will give it a real good cleaning, before I put everything back!.

But that will not be until I manage to get the computer in full working order on my home made test bench.....

Have moved the single motherboard mount, so it will become useful and i will not have to support the motherboard.

I am not a fan of these type of motherboard mounts, but I think I threw all my old brass one out when I junked most of my computer bits some 10 years after stopping work as a computer engineer.

But having said that a few bits do keep turning up as I am going thru things and if I can get enough the same size, I will replace these.

I have removed the heatsink n fan.

Removed the CPU to see if I can see any dirt and to make sure I had inserted the CPU correctly. (Which of coarse I had) but I am clutching at straws here!!.

As I am at a total loss at this point.

I clean up the cooling creme, there is not much to go wrong here, but I do test the fan and that works fine.

My Homemade computer bench :) :)

My stool plus a Amazon box works wonders :) :)
And allows me the space I need, plus I can walk away from it as it is and come back when I want too....

I do not know, if it is work some more cooling cream to find out if it works.
I will walk away and think about it.

I have research around and it appears that these motherboards are known to go dead for no specific reason! I cannot find anyone who has said what they were doing when it happened ?

IE:- just switched it on and nothing happens or I was doing such n such when it stopped working...

So I tend to treat these comments with a piece if salt!.

But I find another motherboard quite a few generations newer than this one, that will run here CPU & Memory and take it from there.......................
