Another day spent down the workshop.
Progress is very slow, but there is nothing I can do about that :( :(

Washer has it's edges filed, till its a nice fit with the hole in the console.

The use a magnet to hold in place..

I find an scrap piece of metal of the same gauge as the console

Carefully measure the current hole in console.

and start to mark out the lines on this off cut.

That's a start for this to sort this small job...

Coming along nicely..

The extra plate, is just me being careful, It will hopefully spread the weight of the sat nav away from the welded spacer.

Starting to mark and score the washer that will need soon.
I am making 2 up up, in case I fuck up one or loose it

The bike bench comes in handy :) :)

The edges are now shaped, to allow me to get the weld into the console and the spacer that will fill up the large hole.

A nice tight fit...

Time to start welding it all together and grinding the excess welds back.
Today is 1st time I have welded in some 10 years !

Steady is the name of the pace and when welds sanded back starting to look good.

Welding the inner patch...

Not sure yet whether to try and see if I can weld the holes left,

or more likely get me Tinning kit out and do it that way instead...
