30th November 2022 - The Transits Conversion

Published on 1 December 2022 at 01:05

Hi Folks.

Not the update I was hoping to do today!
But there is always something I can be getting on with.

So today finds me re-searching heaters for the transit, and I have purchased the one, that I think gives best value for money.
Also A few other related items purchased. (but More about these later on, when they arrive).

Today the "UK Plug-in Electricity Monitor Power Meter Energy Usage Wattage Kwh Analyzer New" arrived.

This means I can start testing electrical equipment that I am hoping to convert to 12 volts and also to find out just what wattage/power they draw.

I will be starting with my Sleep Acnea machine. Now I can make a lead up and plug in were the mains adaptor normally fits in and as that drops it to 12 volts, means I can run direct 12 volts.

I cannot read the instructions, the print is just to small, so will scan it in and enlarge it and try to set it up on my Sleep Acnea Machine later on....

I am after 2 readings.

1. a 24 hour reading.
2. A Weekly ready.

This will me to work out an average, as I rarely sleep the same hours each night!.

Once I have this information it will be added to a 12 volt sheet, and after I have done everything I will be taking - it will give me the info I need to make sure the solar kit I install will be more than enough hopefully for 3-4 days at a time.

I am also looking a 2 small wind turbines, not that they are very efficient, but more for really cloudy days and during the night time, as a backup.
But this is still in early research stage at this time.

As for how I will be connecting to the transits 12 volt circuit, I have not yet looked into.
A job that I will add to my Post it notes list and can be dealt with later, as I would prefer to buy all my connectors, wire n bits in one go, as it would be cheaper..
