Hi Folks.
Yesterday was a good day all round, and if I can keep that sort of progress up, I may just stand a chance of heading to Scotland on 31st March!.
But only time will tell.
As it is not only just about having loads of good days in the transit, I still have to raise money, to not only pay to finish the conversion, but to be able to stay in Scotland for as long as I need.
Let us see what today brings................................
Beside the rain !
Right am back again............
To start with the little very basic jig I was making when Lynne came home last night, just needed the holes widening, where the screws were to long.
And they work a treat and now the screws slide easily down the drilled hole and allow me to gently pull this bottom bit away
so I can use the grinder to cut the screws back..
That's looking good, altho a waste of a popular length of screws, but with no money in the bank, it is make do as best as I can, so as not to leave things part finished.
I have measured and marked out were the rear baton will go.
Now when I cut the vertical batons, I was still undecided just what I was gonna do at the back!.
But today, the work, just seems to be flowing effortlessly, if not very quickly.
But I will take that as steady progress is good.
Dam it is one of those bloody annoying enforced breaks again, so I can wash and change my trousers n underwear :( :(
Amazon courier has been, with some of the last items I ordered last week!.
I have never had a decent set of wood chisels, since I left my grand parents when I was 16!
I need some for some jobs that I have to do, so I ordered these :) :) :)
Electric planer will come in very handy when I start to cut the panels, for the finishing edges.
Found in Amazon's 24 hour sale at 1/3rd of normal price :) :)
Another lot again in Amazon's 24 hour sale £1.00 a pack..
I continue to assemble the framework that will sit on the toilet plinth and if I have my measurements right the next one that sits above this one will be exactly the same measurements.
But 1st I have to finish this one.
I am using off cuts to make a 2nd pair of hands, so I can carry on and not be reliant on anyone else.
The hardest part is pushing down to hold it all in place and then drill the holes and screw in the screws.....
Another baton all bolted together, just waiting on me to cut the screws.
I do not have any screws thin or short enough to drill direct thru both pieces of baton.
But these brackets are very handy and also give me mounting points to screw it down to the floor.
That is all the crews cut back...
now time to..................
Start on the other end, so I cut 2 more batons 19" long
And in goes the first one and is screwed in place..
I had to make some small adjustments, to get this frame to sit as it should.
Lots of gentle tapping to get this lined up just right.
Remember this is the bit that has to be removed to be emptied...
Dam I have run out of brackets, but I think I have a few more in the house.
So time to nip in doors have a drink, wash n change of trousers and some food, and I will see how tired I am after some food.
The day started out real good, then I must have fallen asleep as I lost 4 hours, and have not caught up.
I also need to hunt around the house for some white silk or gloss, as Hopefully in a few days I will be ready to paint the base and the framework.
I am only painting it just in case of leaks from the toilet or spillage when I lift it up to empty it.
I plan on emptying it everyday, subject to me being able to do it, so it will not have a lot of dirty water in it.
Once I have this last baton screwed into place, I can make an identical one, with only the 2 batons closest to the porta loo slightly different place by about 2-3 mm and will sit just under the darker brown of the portaloo..
