Got a call from Got a call from Strawbs asking if I want some company - no brainer that one
So I nip over to Deepings to pick him up and we stop of at Andrews Timber Merchants to pick up some more Screws, angle joints and a few other small things and we are soon down the workshop.
As the weathers dry we decide to go and replace the front of the workshop
So off comes this door
Will it or wont this one open!
Its not been used since 2006
Its a tight squeeze with the sides I build yesterday, but we can squeeze thru just
that's the front panel all marked out, the baton is to help me cut in a straight line with the circular saw
As can be seen by the white paint was inner workshop lining only a few days ago
and we soon have it screwed into place
Strawbs taking a well earned breather.
With a bit o persuasion Strawbs convinces the door that it wants to open
and is soon removed
we mark up another piece that was a few days ago the inner workshop lining
( Have run out of funds again, so reusing internal boards and will replace them with new ones when I can).
Must keep this project ticking over !
and its ready to be trimmed
and the panel is soon screwed in place.
But its bloody cold and extremely drafty
We will be re using some of this door shortly, but the wind keeps blowing it over
Norton Commando - We have 30 mph winds with gust of 40.
Stephen Osborn - its double that here at the moment or so the weathermen say
There's a hole there somewhere!
and we soon have the water pump wire fed thru into the workshop.
I fit another plug for now
Starting to look good and its still dry
we use the old door to stop the worst of the drafts
Norton Commando - Anything to slow down the cold draft.
Stephen Osborn - definitely
Stephen Osborn - hopefully tomorrow will start to line and insulate the new front
as we build a new door frame
and the workshop starts to warm up a bit
Just trimming the old carpet outside so door opens n shuts easily
Just needs to be boarded
Stephen Osborn - Cheers
We drag the old door with the better front into the workshop
and trim off the excess
and it is soon cut to fit
and we soon have it screwed in place and I give it a coat of blue paint, just as i finish it starts to rain
If dry tomorrow I will give it a few more coats of paint
Norton Commando - The paint job look good. It should help preserve the wood well from the weather for along time.
Stephen Osborn - i have some fence slating that will be going over the top sometime this year, once workshop is done, will mark out the corners and bring the slating in trim and clean it and give 3-4 coats of blue before fitting to the front of the workshop.
