3rd March 2014 - Various Hobbies - Workshop Update

Published on 8 September 2022 at 21:31

Don't really want to be in the workshop, feeling like crap with no go go juice at all,

but I thought even if I only tidy and hoover up, it will be something.

But i didn't get any of that done at all!

and from the front, not too bad, even better once I use some sealant, to get rid of the gaps

I decide to put a 5 foot light on the 2x2 i used to give a nice finish

had to take this apart as wire wasn't long enough to reach either of the two lights

and my glasses drop off again and the lens fell out once to often, so a rubbish bag tie stripped of its plastic soon cures this

ready to be tested once all connected up

and once again its time to unplug the bench lights, and this time cut the main light feed to the workbench lights and join it all together inside the light

in goes the next mains roof socket box

wires fed thru

with large drill bit I drill out all 3 holes as small bench, main workbench will join to the other roof sockets

the other socket is wired up also, so now all the mains sockets are wired up.

I just have to find out why the RCD box didn't work, at moment live cable into workshop is wired to a double socket

A job for another day, when i have visitors, as i think I need someone there to slow me down, and make me think

and the 2nd bits soon follows

Found some skirting board, I have had laying around over 10 years, and thought it would tidy were the 2 roofs joins up nicely

From the bench looks good

Which then lead on to unplugging the lights and drilling thru the beams and feeding the wires thru.

which lead on to fitting this 4 foot light on the side wall

I have run out of white 3 core, but have a long length of orange 3 core that will do, so wire up the first one

I wire up the other side light to this one and a feed out

I see a small piece of cable trunking sdo screw it to the beam and feed the wire thru

and it looks a whole lot brighter now.

I still have some lights to fit on the other wall, but don't have them at the moment and cant get to the wall easily either at the moment.

i see a plastic socket backing and this will be ideal for the last ceiling double socket, as no roof trusses at just the tight size for the metals backs.

and its soon done and hanging ready to be fitted later on.

I put the first cable roof cover back on, but move it more to the left, so no caps between the boards now

some painting will get rid of the unpainted areas, but that's for another day

That's if for the day, down the workshop, still feel like crap my arthritis is really giving me grief and not only causing lots of pain, but is slowing me down and making everything so bloody hard to do.

gonna chill out for a bit have a bath then sit down n try n get wish you were here right
