Double Bonus job, to have worked out and cut the bed frame & have it mounted!
As can b seen, altho I have been working in the transit all week, again nothing is actually finished.
Our plans today is to try and get some other jobs started, but also to finish a few others.
Our first job today, is to have a massive clean up.
I did not see it all week, as was trying to remain focused on what I was doing and is teh only way I can get anything done at this time.
Out go the foam tiles and I slide the radiator in the bathroom for now
Lynne is having a good tidy up of the boxes n backs, to see if we can get rid of some, and stack the rest nicely.
Then Lynne gets Gay Gordon out and vacuums the who van and kitchen top....
The kitchen unit is now a lot cleaner.
All the off-cuts, that may be useful are now in a bag and hung up out of the way.
The rear of the transit, is looking better
I gotta admit, I am starting to feel a bit happier now
Lynne has even hoovered & tidied up the bathroom area
I have moved the portaloo & bits out of the bathroom.
So I can get to the Side wall of the van.
Altho Lynne has already washed these areas, I have just wiped them down wit a Tak cloth
and the roof, it amazed me at just how much dirt n grease came away!
And it is time to start adding the sound dampening pads.
At £10.00 a pack, I am glad you do not have to cover the whole panels with it.
Just these squares is more than enough, and you can really here the difference, when you tap the sides after the pads are installed.
That is the last of the pads on the transit's side wall, this area is now ready for insulating.
I still have the roof to do, but Lynne n me get talking about another part of the conversion. and come back to it later on.....
We are looking at the changes and gonna try n mount the kitchen unit into place, if we can...
First we need to move the boxes out of the way...
We also need to empty out as much as we can from the unit, plus what sits in front of it.
We push the kitchen unit onto the bathroom/kitchen wall, and square the kitchen off.
And start to look at the changes we are gonna have to make to get the kitchen unit to fit.
I have removed this box of useful bits, and hopefully we will get the water heater in here, plus some shelving for kitchen storage stuff.
I had to go for a wash n change of clothes, so we decided it was time for a break..
Lynne's way of trying to make me not feel bad about having to have these breaks.
I have come back out, so I get on with a few jobs.
Lynne will be back soon.
So I stick the dampening pads, to the roof in the bathroom area.
(That's one small job completed from my list!)
Now it is hunt the chisel set time, I know it is in here somewhere, so as I go thru the bags n boxes, I compact items together.
And end up with this lot, which Lynne has now taken into the computer room, for packaging
Finally I find my chisel set!
But I do not mind, as there are a lot less boxes to keep moving around now :) :)
and with the largest chisel and me rubber mallet, off comes the decoration piece that is in our way.
It is now in the off-cuts bag.
I mark up the bottom corner that will be cut away.
At the moment the carcas is quiet weak, so once we have made to modifications to it, we will be adding some framework to it to stiffen it up, as well as being bolted the the bathroom/kitchen wall & and to the floor n sides of the van.
I have moved as much stuff away from this side of the van, that I could.
And with Lynne's help we move the kitchen unit here.
As we have a lot of work to do behind the kictchen...
Now Lynne can get to it, she gets Gay Gordon out again and gets rid of as much muck n dust as she can.
Whilst Lynne is busy, I get on with the bathroom/kitchen wall
I start to screw the 3mm ply to the framework, to pull it all together
Thats that done for now
(the bottom half is still to be done, but I need to get the sink mounted, so I know were to add the cross struts)
I now start to cut the sound deadening/insulating roll, I brought just for the bathroom.
Luckily Lynne has finished so she takes over the cutting duties for me....
(both of us have fecked hands, but for different reasons :( :( )
I even make use of the off-cuts...
and for now, we are finished insulating the wall.
As I am not ready for the bottom part to be done yet, Hopefully tomorrow or Monday, if the parts we have ordered arrive.
Lynne as usual has done a cracking job of cleaning, washing and wiping down behind were the kitchen will go..
We were just talking about masking this window up, so I can get the area Ken worked on Primered.
When I had an accident !, So inside we go again..
As it is all gonna be covered up and I have found 2 x Tins of the White Gloss I did the bulkhead in, I will use that, to protect the metal
Right we are back and this time we are masking up the kitchen window area, where Ken had to replace a hole chunk of the framework, for the window to fit.
Masked up the area we needed, and after a final wipe down with a tak cloth
I start to spray the primer on, it is drying very quickly, so soon have 3 layers on
and am now ready to spray the White cans that we had left over from the bulkhead.
Again within 15 mins was dry, so soon started to get more coats on
I mention to Lynne, just how much brighter it all looks, and that I wished we had masked teh whole window area
Obviously, we cannot do anything, that's gonna create dust, so we start to add sound proofing pads
Where we can
Resting as me knees are not very stable, and we confirm, that tomorrow, we will mask the rest of the window and spray it white, as it makes it so much lighter..
We move on towards the bathroom and start to lay the roof insulation in place!.
Altho I try to be very careful, it stretches all over the place, and trying to keep straight lines is impossible!
All in all avery good day, we both feel we have done a lot today. Ok we may not have got everything done on the list, but we feel we have brought along the bits we have done a long way.
Sunday, I will be on my own, as Lynne n Michael go shopping and when they get back, they will be putting up the gazebo, so we have a work area for Vincent.
And if time will remove the disco room door, for me to re hinge.
