Hi Folks...
Lynne's Motherboard has arrived, so I have moved a few small jobs around today to fit this in and see if we can finally get her Computer up and running.
Lynne's replacement Motherboard has arrived, so let me see if it works...
The motherboard was in a good solid box, and well wrapped in bubble wrap.
A plus comment for that will be left in the feedback I will leave, after testing.
It comes with heatsink and fan, again a nice touch and again a plus will be added on his feedback.
So I remove the heatsink n fan from the old motherboard.
I think I will be sending the cooler gell back for a refund, as it should not look like this after 48 hours!.
So I am going back to the Artic Silver I have always used. That should arrive tomorrow.
And i give the CPU & heatsink a good wipe down to remove all traces of the cooling gel
This motherboard will be listed on eBay for Spares Repairs at £1.99.
It may still work, if I am unlucky enough to have brought a faulty new PSU!!
Right I have wrapped up the old motherboard in the bubble wrap the replacement board came in.
now it is time to remove the heatsink & fan that came with the replacement motherboard
and another nice thoughtful touch is the covering of the CPU contacts :) :)
Another positive point for his feed back, and I will be saving him under my Sellers list, if I need anything else I will look at his listings first!!
in goes Lynne's I5 7500 cpu
and fastened in to place
Stupid stupid me !! :( :(
I did not check the memory !!
the replacement board uses DDR4
and Lynne's old board was DDR3
So a hunt on eBay found some DDR4 with make an offer, so I made an offer and they were accepted!
The DDR3 will be listed on eBay ready for Saturdays listings to auto start...
So still do not know, if we have a working computer and all because I am trying to get it sorted, when my mind is all over the place!!
But what is done is done, no point crying over it, Now just gotta wait some more...
