On top of that a few days back i started to get tender downstairs one again and am passing small dark grey silver bits once again .
So looks like the stones are back, at the moment its not too painful and at least I can pass water for now, what with a trip to Wales tomorrow - just what I need.
Anyway, I had left my glasses down the workshop on the 4th April ( not been down there since ), so went to get them, then sat down, put planet rock on and started fiddling with the big ones wiring .
But I decided to stop and put the top on the front reservoir first, so as not to risk spilling any brake fluid.
It does need to be bled, a job for another day, when bending over is not so painful
Not bothered about the electrical blocks.
Have this big block left over from the replacement Loom ?
At this stage not a clue what its for, but obviously its been used, so must connect to something.
After removing some tatty duct tape found these two wires, one badly damaged, I think they are for the other horn!, but not 100% sure just yet.
Norton Commando - I hope so very much also. These wires are for the other horn
and they don't suffer from this
Not sure yet, but looks like indicators, It don't matter as these electrical blocks will be consigned to the bin and I will use some Lucus car connector blocks, that Doug's Cycles kindly donated for me to get Kurgan back on the road, a few years back and are left over
mmmm left over from the Ignition switch!
My ignition switch
Update Might be easier than I thought
Strange as the loom and the handle bar switch gear all came from the same bike!
I hang the original left hand switch wiring out the way for reference, they also totally diff wire colours and positions!
and these two loose wires again from the loom - not a clue at this stage were they go.
I hate it when I see these fitted to a bike,
I just cant understand why as proper connectors are as cheap !
Andrew Smith - I think its down to not being able to get your hands on the right type of connectors easily.
This looks like the cause for the front lights to sometimes not work!.
I still don't have a replacement headlamp bulb connector, run out of money for now
So will probably have to look at possibly refurbishing the old one
Some of the left handle bar switch connected to the loom, but again notice that not all the colour codes in the socket matches
more research needed
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh
Looking at the manual we have a problem Houston, my switch is 3 wire, the uk spec switch is 6 wires!
Mark Downer - I know what you mean mate nothings f ING easy or standard anymore.best of luck mate where do you live I could give you a hand over a beer or two and talk bollocks lol
Mark Downer - Ah tad far sorry
Stephen Osborn - no problem - hopefully will get down there later so progress update later on
Stephen Osborn - Many thanks
what fits on UK spec Big Ones!
Just when did Honda start making things so different? in the 70s n 80s most parts interchangeable from 250c right up to 1000cc !
There are none on ebay going cheap at the moment, and not got money to ship from the states, so looks like, I may have to look at the wiring diagrams ans see if I can join the excess wires to my 3 wire switch.
So I guess that's gonna keep me busy.
Ebay sales have nose dived as expected and only few items going and then only those less than a quid, so I think its time to consider continuing to sort thru the boxes n see what I can find, so i can get the Big One back on the road.
