Kurgan Suzuki GS1000E Custom

I had SOLD up and due to my various illnesses I thought I would never ride a again!

But one sunny day, a few years later, I started to yearn for another chop!.
But how am I gonna ride it ? let alone hold it upright when at a stand still ?

So one day Trevor (an old friend from the early 80's) said I could have a GS750 that he had in bits. He soon dropped it of here and withing a few weeks it was ready for it's MOT, but still I had not ridden it  ??

So we extended the gear lever a few inches, and hoped that would do, Trevor would on his Yamaha 750 Custom, so we headed off. Gear changes were very slow, but it was workable if I was careful with the throttle, altho the rear brake, was gonna take some working out, as I have very limited ankle movement.

A few months of riding the GS750 proved with a change in riding style that I could ride again, maybe not everyday and also need to stop every 10 miles or so to let my legs recover, but it was a start !

But I was hankering for a chop ! so the GS750 was sold on, and the search began..

A rolling chassis was on Ebay for a Suzuki GS1000E at Doncaster, but I wasn't well enough to go n look at it.
So I put word out that anyone living close to were the rolling chassis was, would they contact me with a view of going and looking at it for me.

Within a very short time a visit was arranged and the rolling chassis was given a look over and was a very promising result, next thing I heard was the rolling chassis was at my friends house and I owe him £100.00 :) :)

So Trevor n me drove up in my old MK3 transit and picked up the bike. We stayed around for a few hours chewing the cud, before heading home.

All I needed now was an engine, carbs, exhaust and anything else that was missing ??

Will add more here, when I find anymore information.
