Hi Folks.................

Another day another day closer to getting Kurgan back on the road................

Anne McGarrie - Flippin eck Mr C, you are gonna have me a fully fledged mechanic by the time you get Kurgan back on the road

Anne McGarrie - and if I lived nearer I would come and clean it for you !!! I used to be the best 'gunker' in the North West

Stephen Osborn - cheeky cheeky Anne - hopefully will have him running next week or not far off - will get started on wiring next week whilst i am waiting for someone who can offer there services with a welder

Stephen Osborn

cheers Anne the thought was there

Andy Millward - And watch out for the SILT near the Drain plug as its a Hidding place for Grit and Sand ....

Stephen Osborn - i hate cleaning around the drain plugs

Andy Millward - Put 'em back together, fit and wait .... Till tank is on, ..

Turn tap and undo the screws and let petrol do the cleaning for YOU.
But remember...
No naked flames or starting till dry and washed ful away, away, away :-@

Andy Millward - Chain "Looks" abit rusty as well ....

Stephen Osborn - na it will be alright when i get some oil on it in the next few days

Right time to start on teh carbs. Something Ive been putting of as my concentration isnt what it should be but here goes
what a bloody mess - mind you a few blocked jets and 1 float adjusted (no that was leaking on the donor bike). altho probally gonna have to clean these out a few more times before she will run smoothly.
the oil presure switch is not only in better order but has the wire as well
This dont look to good and not a bloody wire in site
in hindsite its actually in better condition than I thought
Of comes teh starter motor cover of teh replacement engine and no oil preasure switch wire but no rubber bung either
So reluctently the Kliktronic and the sprocket covers gotta come back off !
that the replacemet oil presure switch fitted
Undo teh starter motor wire
off comes teh Klicktronic
and teh sprocket cover
move some of the othtrr cables
and feed the oil pressure switch wire thru
Thats teh Sprocket cover back on
And The Klicktronic - this will need adjusting when i have electrics sorted - will probally do it after I have engine running.
On goes the carbs & tightend up 🙂 its starting to look like a bike again
Have removed the points cover - to fold. before I start the engine wanna take it all apart and check to make sure advance n retard is working properly and will use points, condensers from Kurgan as they were new last year.
On goes the throttle assembly - looks like I need to handle bar grips.
Thats the cable attached to teh Carb and all adjusted.
All teh engine mounting bolts have now been rechecked and those I had missed tighend up.
1the rear brake linkages are now tighened up - leaving just enough for smooth movement
Damm the 2 brakes lines are too short - ah well a long 6mm bolt and some nuts as a temp (well sorta ) fix - must remember to bleed the front brakes. -- Andy Millward Or stopping might be alittle hairy 🙂
Nuts nicely locking the bolt into the bottom yoke and ad mounting bracket stop it moving around. If anyone has some braided hose that is about 2 inches Too long happy to swap ya !
on goes the front brake resorvior and its all bolted up. Thats it for today - another day were I am happy with progress. wont have time now to get down shed again till Monday but heres list of jobs still to do. front end - check all bolts pump up front
