Today, we are starting to add a Side door to the workshop.
It's part of a grander plan!
Will it ever get finished ??

Its a bit of a mess, that due to my chest, i didn't get tidied up last nite

The Big One sees some light 🙂

Right first job this morning is to have a tidy up, as I need to push the big One to one side.

One day it will be back were It belong ! :) :)

The big one is now against the side wall, leaving loads of space for us to work in. Strabs arrives as I am sweeping up and moving the Big One 🙂

After some discussion about the plans we had made about the side door, we decided to change our minds 🙂 The door is gonna be moved some 20" or so, which will give us a bit more room to work with. The first roof beam support is made up - - Gary Strawbrid

Screws are a bit long 🙂

But some gental use with an angle grinder soon sorts that out

Planing the worst bit flush 🙂 and screwed to the left right wall 🙂

Another bit of tidying up to make room so we can get to the opposite side of the workshop.

mmmm not quite there

and we finally have even more space to work in

The second roof support, is soon made up and screwed into place

Time for me to remove all this stuff from the roof beams and the light !

that's better 🙂

Buts its a lot darker now

The Big One gets covered up - yet again

the roof truss is cut n clamped together - - Gary Strawbridge All 263cm of it!

and screwed tight, I have some 10mm threaded bar, that I will drill n fit at a later date, if i feel its needed

We cant fit the beam as its pushing the roof too much, and i dont want to split the roof felt. I remember seeing on Tommy Walsh at some silly oclock that with a chop saw how to cut a groove into wood quickly and easily

and with the aid of a hammer the floor truss fits in place

Bit wide on this one

and soon both are screwed to the horizontal roof truss

We use some angle brackets for now.
