2nd March 2011 - Kurgan - Suzuki GS1000E Custom

Right todays the final push to get the wiring sorted,

so its time to put the ignition coild back on
and there are now nicely tightend in place 🙂
There is no room to feed the gear selector wires thru the side of the fish plate, so I bent the tabs on the horn and fed them thru the front of the frame. Managed in the end to get all 5 wires inside the plastic tubing
its really tightend up the area behind the stem
no back to the battery area, the Green wire from the Reg/Rec goes into the multi earth block.
I hunt around the bits of wire box and find a piece of black/white wire with the original std double female bullet conector, and joined this to teh Black wire from teh Reg/Rec unit. The spare connector in the double block will allow me to test to see if
teh Black/ white wire from teh black wire from teh Reg/Rec now goes to a spare switch live conector (Orange wire)
and cable tie everything up as best as I can without anything being tight. Move the trickle charger wires, so they fed thru the top of the battery area. Comments
and on goes the side panel 🙂 As you can see like the rest of Kurgan is gonna need a bloody good clean Comments
Hopefully for the last time remove the headlamp unit from the shell. Comments
off comes the chrome cover from under the clocks Comments
and remove the gear indicator led display Comments
You can see the wire I cut - thinking it was for teh 6th gear indicator - what a plonker if I had only counted the bloody wires ! Comments
When I went to carefully strip the outa insulator it all cam off 🙁 and wouldnt go back on again Comments
so finding some thicker insulation on bits o wire from teh bits box and cut to fit. Comments
Founds a white/black wire to use and carefully wound it round the bit that was left and carefully soldered them together, then covered the join in insulating tape. And its now the time to play how many times can i drop the small screws and fined em !
and carefully push all the wires back into the unit
and put back the chrome cover. and Bolt it up - am missing one nut at the moment, but hopefully it will be re found when i move Kurgan outside, and start to tidy up.
Then I feed the wires from the gear indicator unit in the clocks thru the top hole of the headlamp shell. and hold out of the way.
and do the same with the wires from the gear indicator unit from the engine, but thru the bottom hole in the headlamp shell. and again put out of the way.

Unfortuantly before I could cut the wires to length and put blocks on the the cold became to much for my chest, so instead of forcing myself, thought it better to get back in the warm and tackle it another day.

Joining teh above together is the final piece to be completed for the wiring, unless when I start Kurgan up something goes wrong.

I need in the morning to goto Sainsbury's and buy some clear vinagar so I can hopefully get the float bowls, and jets all free from dried up petrol and blockages.

The Klicktronic still needs to be set up so gear changes work.

Tires pumped up.

Put tank n sat back on.

Make sure clutch is working.

check all nuts n bolts

Fire him up

take for a test run or 5

Thats it folks am out all tomorrow at EMSL putting the new disco PA together ready for NABDONIA RALLY, and then of for band practice with Exhibit A to see how much more practice and were its needed for when we play at Old Nicks Tavern on my Birtday....
