8th February 2018 - NEWKY The Disco Transit White - Medium Roof.

Today finds us putting some new metal back., sadly most will not be seen or no-one will know it's been done.

1.We finish the passengers footwell, it is now ready to be sanded back and filled before painting.

2.The rear side door bottom seal was totally shot,

but now replaced,

ready for final trimming, welding and prep.

3.The passenger door is sanded back and re-fitted to make sure shut lines are all straight..

4. Behind the side door seal, things looked really bad.

But with the help from some metal from the panel we cut out,

things are starting to come together..

5.Again this area a real mess behind the panel.

But now we have a nice solid foundation to work from.

6. Side Sliding door - How much Filler ??

7.Jesus, it's gonna take ages to chip out this old filler, but I am sure it will be worth all the trouble.

8. some major welding along the seams to re-join the panels back together.

9. So much filler on this door,

yet it is basically still solid,

but with some major dents !.

There is nothing else for it,

we are gonna have to remove all the filler on this door.

10. This area sanded back, a very thin skim of filler after removing crease dent as best as we could and some filler primer.

11. After knocking out a dent in this corner,

we finish it with a thin skim of filler, when it dries we will sand it back by hand

12. When I was searching for parts,

I came across this brand new Ford Side door mount.

It was very cheap so I brought it, just in case!..

Looking at these two side by side,

we throw away the old one.

13.We look this area over very carefully,

now that NEWKY is of the ground.

We can see a lot of work ahead,( Unfortunately the pic, does not show just how bad things are )

as well as more parts I need to buy....
I think some major work will be done here !!
