After printing out the top 50 jobs that have to be done,

it's off down to the shed.

If I can get a fair amount done today will be well happy.

As usual this update is done whilst I'm thawing out and during coffee breaks.

The light shells are not in a good way, but they are still solid, so after a good wirebrushing down and skiminng some filler into the pits
1st job of the day is to paint the holders that the side lights sit on.
Now on these 2 the shell of the chrome is still pretty good, so after masking the shells up its time to give them several coats of paint, thru-ought the day..
Next up is the other indicator side light... again the chrome is shot on this one, so its back to the wire wheel and several light coats of paint thru-ought the day..
The same treatment goes for the lens holder..
Whilst there drying its of into the leantoo to mount the ignition coil into the electric box. (not only did the spring washers that Odie brought down come in handy but the nuts as well..
And yet again I seem to be taking the trike back to bits again. This time its the struts that have to be removed - I made a monumental cock up and there 3 inches too long.( I didn't allow for the springs compression, so when I said add another 1 inch to t
The next job was to remove the petrol tank. This is purely a safety measure in case I have got my measurements for the struts wrong. Either way the petrol tank will be staying were it is, I may just have to remount it a bit higher...
Next job was to remove the brake rod from the old master cylinder, just my luck the bloody things been welded in so out comes the angle grinder....
and eventually with the help of a stone chisel its free, a good cleanup on the wire wheel soon has it ready for its first coats of paint..
Next item I found lying on the workbench was the alternator adjuster plate - so it also had the wire wheel and paint treatment..
Now it says on the instructions to insert bush into lathe and with a shap knife cut to desired size....
(After I stop falling outa me chair with laughter). Put the grinding wheel on the bench grinder
and stood there for ages grinding the bushes down to required size..
An din goes these bushes
Closely followed by this pair on the other end.
eventually had all 8 bushes ground down to size, and with some grease managed to get them inserted into there homes on the lower radius bars. Also after some perssuasion managed to get the stainless inserts fitted as well..
Next I tried to fit them, not as easy as it sounds due to holes being blocked up with paint and then everything being out of line.... - But eventually managed to get the front left radius arm fitted and loosely bolted..
after a lot of bad language managed to get the axle to line up and some threaded bar (temp measure) thru one side and the bush, but it wouldn't lign up the other side... Looks as if I'm gonna have to wait until the struts are shortened and replaced on the
This rod has seen better days
Not sure this brake rod is gonna be recoverable

I think all in all not a bad day.

I have taken the struts to be shortend, It gave them a good laugh...
